The place seems to attract older generation, so it is calm and peaceful. Rooms are great, spacious, with toilets and wardrobes. Several common showers, all clean. Breakfast worth the money, but served only between 8 and 9. Common room could be better, but otherwise perfect STF place.Wifi working fine. Possible to sit outside and enjoy the view. Excellent place.

I stayed one night at Orsa Vandrarhem during a road trip round Sweden in July 2015. The hostel has everything  that can be expected from a modern hostel, and the service was excellent. From the terrace you have the most amazing view (sadly the weather was pretty rough when I was there), with a chance to see gorgeous sunsets. The room was large and adequate, and I was especially impressed with the almost sound-proof door out to the corridor. As I didn't have a toilet in my room, I had to use the communal one down the hall, but never had a problem with availability. The showers (also communal) were simple but sufficient. All in all I could go back to this, not too far out of town - but you'd still need wheels to get there- hostel on future travels. I also believe this would be a good place to stay if you wish to go skiing in winter, as the ski slopes aren't too far away (by car), but prices are much better than the places you'd find closer to them.

Everything you can expect from a modern hostel

Very nice and helpful hostel parents. Large, clean rooms. Shower rooms are in sufficient number on the hallway. You can use your own sleeping bag and towel and save a little money. For 75 seconds you get a great breakfast buffet. The kitchen is large, clean and well equipped. The hostel is located on the mountain, about 15-20 minutes walk from the train station or bus station. From the terrace you have a beautiful view! Very well I also liked that you could borrow bicycles. A nice, 15 km long walking path just past the hostel. (Don't forget, the summer mosquito spray also leads through the woods...)

Accommodation with a great view

Nice host and super breakfast with views of Orsasjön! The hostel is located on the mountain and is about 10-15 minutes' walk from the train station \bus station. The house is very clean and lovingly decorated. Our beds were very good and the room very large. How can we fully recommend these hostels.

It's a great place to stay.

Orsa Vandrarhem is a youth hostel located in Orsa, Dalécarlie (Dalarna) in SUEDE. The hostel is very simple and the services there are minimal. The reception is very pleasant and you can consult the very friendly staff for activities and things to see in the area. This hostel is mostly located in a beautiful area with multiple possible activities in the vicinity, in winter (backpacing, back skiing, alpine skiing, sled dogs,...) as well as in summer (walking, bathing, Animal Natural Park,...).
