You can see not so long ago this was a nice hotel. We turned up outside and a quick cruise round told us everything we needed to know. Lots of middle eastern men outside smoking and children all boys playing ,no women to be seen, curtains in various states and some windows with towels hanging up. It's clear this is now a refugee hostel or if it isn't the hotel does a good job of looking like one. We cleared off back to Finland.

Avoid -

Upon initially driving up to the hotel it looks very quaint and traditionally Swedish. However, after getting closer it told a different story. There were reams of middle-eastern men and boys outside the hotel smoking and on the balconies -- not a single woman in sight. Not only that but me and my sister were stared down and simply did not feel safe. From looking at the state of the hotel, it was clearly once very nice. Yet now, curtains were all over the place with clothes and towels hanging in the windows, with brown tape on some
windows and children's toys strewn about outside. After further research, it seems that this once lovely hotel now appears to be one of the many refugee hostels created by the Swedish government. I would not recommend.

But when you take a rest this hitel the perfect place to be relax..

I like it

Since you are generally pretty limited in this area for options the hotel was understated but good.  Rooms were clean, good breakfast and evening meal.  Quiet location.  Rooms have decent curtains that block out all the night time sunshine. Friendly staff, very helpful.

Will stay there again.

Nice place to stay

Got nice connected double rooms for family of 5. Nice playing corner for the smallest kids with lots of stuff to have fun with. Rooms were clean and had good space, with extra furniture. Great for families!

Friendly and nice for families

Very comfortable hotel, very clean, not at all noisy and family atmosphere room big enough especially for what we do there, very comfortable bed room service impeccable, friendly and always smiling sauna and jacuzzi nickel restaurant very satisfactory,(deserts being a French specialty, don't expect a miracle.) New Year's Eve 2013-2014.

Reveillon 2013-2014

Very welcome. We ordered one of the rooms on the ground floor which is very spacious. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Good local cuisine but the entrances vary little. We spent the New Year at the Arctic Circle and celebrated it twice because of the time difference between Sweden and Finland. The hotel is close to the centre which is not touristic (no activity). Travel organized by Scandinavia.fr: our guide was Etienne. Very good organizer planning every detail, very thoughtful and of a great culture. Very instructive and very pleasant travel because we left ourselves at its pace. I would advise you to live it.

It's a good hotel.

A 4-day trip to the Swedish/Finnish border to go to Santa Claus Village for a nap. The hotel is very comfortable, the rooms are large and comfortable. The hotel has a jacuzzi and 2 saunas. The reception is very friendly and the restaurant is good, as well as breakfast. Free wifi is available throughout the hotel with a very good rate.

Excellent hotel. Very clean, I was lucky enough to stay in room 3 which is a completely new room on the ground floor. The activities inside the hotel are multiple: sauna in the basement and jacuzzi and sauna on the second floor, pool room, free Wi-Fi. The food is of good quality, the staff is competent. Thank you to the guides Gino and Etienne for their good mood and humor that made me spend a stay at the Hotel Tornedalia and during the activities (rhines, elans, sled dogs, snowmobiles), very pleasant.

Stay Day of the Year 2011 in Lapland from 28/12/2010 to 02/01/2011

Very good welcome from the staff. Free WiFi. The rooms and the hotel are very clean. We were lucky enough to stay in the beautiful newly designed and very spacious rooms located on the ground floor (Folkets Hus rooms no. 3 or 4 or 5). Hotel located a few steps from the city centre (few shops and no souvenir shop). Only a small gem on the restaurant level: the local dishes were quite good (reindeer meat, its lung), but the entrances were very varied (credited), and there were almost never any desserts. We were lucky enough to have excellent guides: Gino and Etienne.
