I loved this place.  I read the negative reviews and, yeah, I can kinda see where they’re coming from…..but it’s missing the point.  It’s a three century old building.  It’s a cheap place to nest while you explore what’s outside its door.  It’s a communal experience, because it’s small.  Expect to talk, expect to make friends.  The manager is a terrific fellow, but it’s not the Hilton:  you mostly have to fend for yourself.  Write down the door code— there’s no 24 hr front desk.  All the guests are assumed to be grownups.  I loved it.

Location is incredible, its just right next to the water. A few minutes walk to many great spots, pub-crawling and tourist sightseeing. It has a kitchen and it can be messy at time. Bed and shower rooms are ok but a bit pricey for its quality. I still had a pleasant stay at the hostel.

Location is incredible

The owner of the hostel is according to my experiences the rudest person I have met in Stockholm. He does not treat me with respect and shouted at me although he knew he charged me wrongly. It is in my responsibility to read the house rules and the terms and conditions, which I did in advance, but it is in his responsibility to comply to them and if he does not understand them he should find legal assistance and not just charging people who are complying to the rules!

I do not recommend to support this person's business, as I request a fair and respectful treatment and not just random shoutings.

The owner is a nightmare whose business should not be supported

Its in the old town gamla stan.   Rooms and kitchen and toilet are very small. Its clean and well maintained.   Hostel staff was helpful. We stayed over there only one night. So close to hop on hop off bus stop 

Great location 

Dockside hostel was a good place to stay. I had no issues with cleanliness while I was there. They had plenty of showers (not many toilets) and didn’t have any problems waiting for others. The beds were comfortable enough and the location was right in the center of the city. Would stay again/ 10

Overall I was happy

I have stayed in more than 150 hostels around the world. This one is actually ok. However, after 6 in the evening the place has no staff! Don’t leave your room without knowing the code!! Even if it is just to take a shower. Otherwise you are stranded!!!!

Worth a stay

The best part of this hostel is absolutely its location in the old town close to the water. In a few minutes you can walk to the subway station and explore the city. Because of the age of the building you have to press the doors like really hard to get in! 

Best location in old town, basic rooms.

A friend and I (both 22 years old) were meeting for a girls weekend and stayed here because we were on a budget and didn't want to spend too much on accommodation. Dockside was in a good location in the Old Town and you can walk to a lot from there! It was one of the cheaper ones and the rooms were pretty clean. The staff were friendly. However, it was pretty quiet and probably not the place for younger people to stay (everyone in our room was 35+ and went to bed very early which made it awkward to come in after being out at night). Overall we don't regret staying there.

Cheap and quiet in a good location.

This hostel was not the most comfortable with small rooms, but location was great. Also very well-organized for late arrivals. The girl at the reception was not very talkative, but she helpen us book a taxi. Showers not luxurious, but clean enough for my standards.

Cheap bed, great location

Floors were filthy and hadn’t been swept in months. Also the beds need vacuuming, there was hair and skin on them. Cleanliness overall in the hostel was terrible and substandard including in the kitchen area. Kitchen light didn’t work so we had to use our mobile phones to search for mugs, cutlery and tidy up. Hair in all the shower drains. Utterly revolting.
