We booked a night in one of their glamping tents to celebrate my birthday. The glamping is a little bit more expensive than a couple of their cabins, and GLAM is litterally in the word so we were expecting the cozy tent we saw in the photos, but thats not what we were met with. The tent was so dirty, and we do understand that a tent is outside and it probably wont look as nice as the phictures, but we were shocked. We wanted to take some cute pictures but that was impossible, every picture looked terrible because of how the tent looked. It was not cozy at all, and the sheets we paid to rent did not look cleaned. We went to reseption with our concerns and asked in a super nice way if we could switch to a cabin (keep in mind that the small cabins were cheaper than the glamping tent, so this was a reasonable request.) She told us no, was very rude, said that it wasnt possible even though the camping site literally was empty, we saw maybe 6 other people and this is a huge space. We asked if we could have some of our money back but there was no way. I think who we talked to was the owner, and she was so rude the entire time. Will never go back. Dont waste your money.

Dirty, not like the photos, extremely rude staff

Peacefull place until I was verbally attacked by restaurant-staff. I was brushing my teeth late at night. I had key for bathroom by reception. As staff was closing up the confronted me and wanted me to leave. Commented on how strange it was that I was there. They insulted me and husbond was ready for psysical confrontation. They were bossing me out of the building then jumped back in their car in very unpleasant and condensating way. As they drove off I was under the impression that I had done something wrong. Then I checked the keycard for toilet and I had acces. So apparently they must have thought I didnt belong there and was NOT a guest. But they didnt bother to ask who I was, just went straight into talking down into very physical threathening manner. What the hell is going on. 
Stay somewhere else If you want a nice peaceful place in Strømstad. Save yourself from weird abusive restaurant owner and protective stupid (maybe drunk! husbond. Need I say that it ruined my evening and I felt very little welcome after the unpleasant and unwanted confrontation.

Agressive staff

My wife and I stayed for two nights here in our motor home.  Friendly and helpful reception with English spoken. There are large grassy pitches for motorhomes, with caravans on a different part of the site. Set in pleasant surroundings and very peaceful, surrounded by trees, but pitches open. The facilities are ok, but showers cost 5K for three minutes. There are no privacy cubicles in the gents and basins are very close to each other. On our first evening, the ladies facilities nearest to us were closed, and remained closed the following morning; no explanation or note to say where other facilities where, so rather inconvenient. Cookers and microwaves are provided for cooking. There is a cycle path from the campsite directly into town, with a self-manned ferry to get across the estuary – free, but a card is required from reception in order to operate the ferry (be patient, it is slow!). A good site for visiting Stromstad.

Good for Visiting Stromstad

Simple place to spend with family and loved ones. Nothing fancy but we loved it.  We stayed in the hytte or small cottage that was good for 4 to 5 persons, with kitchen and bathroom facilities.  The veranda had a small grill, as well as outdoor table and chairs.  The cottage comes with pillows and duvets without covers. Bed linens and towels are available for rent at a reasonable price.  It is possible to bring your own bed linens, no problem about that. Bring your own soap/shampoo, coal  (for grilling).  Highly recommended.
