Beautifully located in the archipelago outside Gothenburg lies this truly excellent  hotel and restaurant. The staff is very friendly with a familiar touch.
The food was very good, lots of fish and other delicacies from the sea handled with great care and served with suitable wines.
The view from our cozy room was magnificent. Truly a nice getaway!

A true gem 

We went as two couples to eat in the restaurant after a wonderful day exploring both Vrångö & Styrsö. 
The Pensionatet and Restaurant are beautiful and it’s like stepping into world of grandeur once you get inside.
The staff are very good, welcoming and knowledgeable, particularly about the food.
We ate from the evening menu, no choice of dishes, 3 courses. The food was nice but in my opinion too complicated with too many flavours competing with each other. The starter was tartare and I wasn’t too enthusiastic about eating raw fish but it was okay,  The desert was based on variants of sea buckthorn and I didn’t really like taste at all.
I would eat the there again if there was more choice of dishes but wouldn’t want to eat the evening menu again.
The cost was on the high side.
Overall a lovely experience but one I wouldn’t rush back to try

A nice experience

Booked all the rooms for conference! Boy were we pleasantly surprised. Room are cool and I did not notice there were no tv in the room since we all gathered around the fireplace to chill! 
Food is great and they have a nice collection of wine 
Will be back for sure 

Cosyness at its best ! Service extraordinarie 

The whole guesthouse is very warmly decorated, with a slightly English touch! A wonderful garden with chairs and seating facilities! What must be highlighted is the tranquility on this side of Styrsö! Then I can definitely recommend the food. The cook can think of something, works with herbs from the garden, fresh ingredients and combinations that I have never had before. This guesthouse is always worth a trip!

Beautiful scissors island outside Gothenburg

A warm welcome, delicious home cooking and a unique glimpse into Swedish island life awaits those lucky enough to take the 15 minute ferry ride to this special spot off the coast of Gothenburg. There you will find a simple but extremely comfortable inn with 13 immaculate rooms; ours had a private bath and a view of the sea. Meals are served in a beautifully appointed dining room where guests dress up for exquisitely prepared and attentively served dinner. The night we were there the chef served a superb meal of scallop and shrimp terrine, haddock with mussels, and a rhubarb crisp with luscious ice cream. Definitely one of the more creative and memorable meals of our travels - including two types of home baked bread served with nettle flavored butter. We were only sorry we did not plan to spend two nights. The island itself offers hiking and bicycle trails. If we had had more time we would have used the inn as a base to explore some of the other islands. A truly unique and special place to which we would like to return.

DON'T MISS THIS GEM!!!

This place is a hidden treasure in the Gothenburg archipelago. 
The restaurant is one of the best in Sweden and the hotel is nothing but fantastic and I'm always happy to be able to come back. Been here many times, both private with wife and with my colleagues for conference and it is always perfect. Nice relaxing atmosphere with service at its absolute best from the very nice and competent staff.


Doesn't get better then this

Beautiful, magical location on a wonderful island in the Gothenburg archipelago. We stayed two nights in August and fell in love with this place.

That's great.

A fantastic place! A little-known island to most (only Swedish tourists and I think the Gothenburg area) so quiet. Sea bathing, breathtaking scenery, waking up with ducks that seem to be swimming in sync, swans, shore goats and so on. I would say it combines the beauty of the northern island (the wooden houses on the sea, the cleaning of places, the non-invasive sympathy of locals) and the southern one (mild climate, at least in summer, clean water, beautiful beaches, bad baths not bad).

A discovery

We stayed in Styrso Skaret for only one night but we appreciated the hospitality and gastronomy of the place to the fullest. You arrive by ferry that in a few minutes from Salthonen stops on the small bridge from which the hotel is just 300 m away. You immediately notice that it is projected into an intimate and private dimension where the marine element is present but discreet. The garden surrounding the house and the porch where you dine are common spaces where it is pleasant to entertain. The island is small and car free.
