Excellent hospitality. Did the bike package, which included the suite with balcony, bikes, and three course dinner daily (and breakfast). Food and wine pairing were incredible - unexpected it. Local ingredients, delicious, and well presented - elk potato pancake and smoked trout were great. Service couldn’t be beat. Coming from NYC, didn’t expect to find this high quality of food in rural Sweden. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony to see the view. Thank you!

Great, relaxing stay with high quality service and meals

We went to Värmland and Sunne in May this year. Looking at their webb site it looked fantastic, with jaccuzi shown in one room, lovely bath room . Nothing shown on their webb site excisted, a big joke, like Fawlty Towers. We got a small room in what they called the "Kavaljers Buildings", that ´s from a story from a novel by famoused writer Selma Lagerlöf. The room was very small, no table, a small TV-screen on a tiny table, no chairs. It was very warm when we stayed there around +25 C. No aircondition in the room, and they did not offer a portobal fan. The window in the combained shower-and toilet room was not to be open. Further, when my wife went to bed she started to wave her arms, small buggs fall down on her from the seeling. Outside, with a view over the farmers land was a table and only one chair so one of us had have to stand.
Outside they were restorating a building, Everything was far a way from their webbsite. The dinner was fine though, a part from that a big joke.

A gift voucher to be used

Ulvsby Herrgård is a historical site with a wonderful ambiance. We had a very good dinner and a very good breakfast. Much to our disappointment the rooms we were given were well below standard. Our stay was Oct 29th and the night temperature was about 6-8 degrees C. Neither the room, the toilet or the shower had the heating turned on. Furthermore, the windows did not close properly so we had an outdoor experience that night. Not worth a fraction of the cost. I sincerely hope these deficiencies will be corrected very soon.

Wonderful location, very good food, but romms vere below standard

We went to Sunne to try and find the farms where my grandparents grew up before immigrating to America. Ulvsby Herrgard was the perfect spot for us to relax and enjoy the area - the setting is beautiful and there's a charming elegance to the property even though it's old. We had dinner, which was delicious, and the breakfast spread was as good as the city hotels.
The rooms are pleasant, if not fancy, and the highlight was watching flocks of cranes migrating across the lake early in the morning.

A lovely stay in the Swedish Countryside

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room (110) was really great. The breakfast was good! Lovely bread and even pancakes! In my opinion dinner is not worth the price, and they have only 3 desserts on the menu, and 1 (the vanilla icecream) was out of stock. That was a disappointment! The location is really nice. You can walk to the water and there is a little stair for easy climbing in and out the water! The main road (E45) is passing the hotel, but the hotel is so far away you can't hear it.

Nice hotel

We stayed two nights over midsummer. Lovely environment with wiew over the lake. Traditional swedish dishes, very well cooked. 

We got a room at "Majorskan", an old building from year 1710. It was nice, clean and cosy. Since I was exhausted I didn't care much about the peculiar sounds and knockings, but my husband couldn't sleep at all. 

In the morning we asked for a new room and complained about the noises all night. We thought it was the pipes or something with natural explanations, but they told us it was nothing wrong with the pipes or anything else (they have checked several times before). But some guests could experience peculiar things and knockings. If you belived in hauntings it very well could have been ghosts. However, we were offered a new room and had a restful night. 

The landlady was very hostipable and we were well taken care of. We could recommend this to friends, but would inform about staying in the old building "Majorskan".
