Stopped in 8 people for a quick 'fika' on a rainy summer afternoon. Got served by two staff, a younger girl and an older gentleman, who NEITHER bothered to grace us with even the slightest smile while ordering, serving or saying goodbye. They seemed to both have a really bad day.
Apart from that, the coffee was poorly prepared, the cinnamon buns were dry (kept on open serving plates by the open door) and Covid-distancing was non-existent.

Most unmotivated staff

This is the most basic of the three Skanor hotels (all owned by same company). I had an upstairs room facing the street. Problem was that the room had large westward facing windows, so the sun beat down on the room all afternoon, making it unbearably hot. Greenhouse effect! This would have been okay, if I could have opened the windows, but they were limited to being opened only a few inches/centimeters, so could not get any breeze. I suspect being unable to open the windows is some kind of gov't rule, but still should be able to get some fresh air in the room.

I ended up leaving the door to the hallway open most of the night, with the fan blowing the hot room air out into the hall, and slowly bringing in cooler air from outside. Even though, room was not cool enough to sleep in until about 3 AM. Needless to say, not a good night's sleep! And this was not on a particularly hot day.

Suggestion to hotel: either have better ventilation in rooms, or keep the curtains closed during the day!

Okay, but room unbearably hot.

So this hotel is very basic, the rooms have the necessities including bed, one chair, one desk. There was no closet in the room but since we just stayed one night it was fine. You can comfortably stay here!

The breakfast was average and also quite basic. The backyard is nice to sit in if you are having breakfast or a drink or such outside.

We stayed here mainly for the location. In Skanör / Falsterbo there are not that many places to choose from so this was a good spot. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was very nice!

Basic hotel, great location and nice staff!

We visited the restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel in Falsterbo.
We visited the first night that the restaurant opened under a new chef. The chef came from a Michelin star restaurant and personally greeted us at the door when we came in the afternoon to see if they were open that evening despite the fact that we were wet from wading at the beach. 
We returned later and enjoyed a marvelous 4 course menu which allowed us to sample some authentic Swedish food. The bread is baked on the premises. The presentation of the amazing food was beautiful. The tastes blew us away. Dessert were homemade chocolates.
Great seating and we enjoyed the company of a nice Swedish couple.
What an unexpected treat

Review of  new restaurant 

The hotel is a series of old buildings in the middle of Skanör. It’s a short walk from the harbour and beach. Our rooms were small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and included fresh juices, bread and croissants. The garden out the back is pleasant. 

Well placed independent hotel

We just dropped in for a cup of coffee on a windy day. The cafe in conjunction with the hotel serves tasty cakes. Try a cinnamon cake or their carrot cakes in the cozy atmosphere before or after taking a walk in the stunning nature.

Nice cafe with Fika and tasteful cakes

One of three boutique hotels in the picturesque town of Skanor in southern Sweden. Minutes from the beach and forest where you have views ton the bridge linking Denmark and Sweden.
Our tip: look for the signature spa creams and lotions on sale.

Magical Scandinavian Experience!

Cosy little hotel in the heart of Skanör. Friendly staff and a nice garden to the rear. Breakfast choice was very basic with no bells and whistles. The hotel would benefit from a renovation and the food on the cafe menu looks like it is straight out of the 80s. Time for a refresh. Room was a good size and was spotlessly clean. 

Quaint

Especially for those travelling with public transport, the hotel location on picturesque Mellangatan is very convenient: on a quiet street about 300 metres from the bus stop “Skänor Centrum”. We arrived there from Trelleborg and later took a bus to different sites - the Viking village Foteviken (Höllviken) and the Falsterbro area - and to Malmö Hyllie (train connection) at the same bus stop. The tourist office (in the public library) and an ICA supermarket (open untill 11 pm) are also next to this bus stop. From the hotel, it’s not too far a walk to Skanör’s harbour (where there is a fish restaurant) and there are many longer lovely walks in the direction of Falsterbro. 
On arrival (after 8 p.m) we found the hotel reception closed. There was no reply at the 2 telephone numbers provided, but we found our room number and key in a envelope at the reception desk. Later we were told this was because a staff member fell ill and we were provided with some information about restaurants by phone. We would have appreciated to find a city map and the addresses of open restaurants because there aren’t too many. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizzas at Skanörs Krog on Falsterbovägen 21 (the continuation of Mellangatan).    
We  stayed in room 1, which is not in the main house but in an adjacent low building facing the lovely courtyard-garden. Our room, which felt a bit like a motel cabin, was adequate but small and there was almost no storage room for our luggage. However we had our own table and chairs to sit outside and there was a possibility to sit in the breakfast room. The room was very quiet. The main problem was that we didn’t manage to turn off a garden lamp shining into our room all night. 
Breakfast is served in a nicely decorated room and is really very good. The staff was helpful and very friendly.

Conveniently located small hotel in Skanör

We stayed 1 night at Hotell Spelabaecken which is situated within a short walk to the charming harbour. When we arrived there was no receptionist and the bell did not work. We had to chase her down in order to check in. The room we were given with a sloped roof were so tiny that my husband could barely stand up in half the room. This was a far cry from the booking confirmation from Bookings.com. Luckily I had brought the confirmation and once I had chased down the receptionist again, she gave us another much larger room. This room was a board room turned into bedroom with a dusty smell. It had not been cleaned for a while and the rug was full of (dog I believe) hair, spider webs handing from the ceiling and there was no remote control for the TV plus the “double” bed was two twins on wheels. The bathroom was a good size but the shower leaked and you were left with a large pool on the floor. The amenities were leftover shower, shampoo and conditioner bottles from previous visitors. At this point we could not be bothered to chase down the receptionist again. Despite the room experience, the cafe was lovely with a very cosy atmosphere. The backyard is lovely too. The wifi is time limited (8 hours) and you will need a code per device. The breakfast buffet is truly delicious with lots of choices and well presented.
If the room had been in order, the price for the stay would have been very reasonable. We left feeling disappointed.
