I'm almost a regular guest at the Petersgrat restaurant, and I've also stayed overnight there. The host family is very friendly, exchanging information with the regular guests, and you don't like to come to the restaurant for nothing. What bothers me is that negative reviews like 1 from 2015 are still coming in first place on Tripadvisor, with an average of 4! So it's no coincidence that travelers can rely less and less on the reviews of restaurants.

Why else would I go to this restaurant regularly?

We were there for a weekend with the SAC. Very friendly reception, clean rooms, fine dining (Cholera, highly recommended if on offer) and in the morning a well-ordered buffet with fine bean coffee.

Small, gentle, friendly and welcome

This was one of the best stays my friend and I had - the owners are really sweet, the rooms nice, the location wonderful for hikes. What was a real treat was the wonderful breakfast buffet where they offered me all non-animal / vegan options including soy milk, margarine and vegan cheese! We also ate dinner there and the cook (the husband owner) made the best Rösti I ever had - not fat but with plenty of veggies. 

So I can highly recommend this for everybody, including vegans.

Wonderful!

Very simple in the midst of small but gorgeous village Kippel. Super friendly hosts. Nice breakfast. All clean, thoug parts of the building would need small renovations. The rooms are big enough with balconies. Do note that there's no elevator available.

Joyful with kids too

very nice hostess; we chose the deer's arrow among the two wild foods: unparalleled; the breakfast buffet extensive - with exceptionally good cork; a quiet room (even facing the street) with balcony and mountain view (bietschhorn and towards the fall pass)

Simple yet very nice, well-groomed and culinary top

It's very convenient near the cable car and the best friendliness of the chefs. The garage is free, but the room was very simple and small. There was a balcony, after all. The breakfast was not particularly good, but it was probably reasonable for the price.

A simple but very friendly hotel

A cordial thank you to Stefanie and Herbert. We had a short but great time with you. Warm hospitality and a great service. Our room was very clean and you can even get a washcloth to the bathroom. Where else is this? Sure it's not the most modern hotel, but the price is reasonable. Breakfast is very delicious and for extras Stefanie is in the kitchen in the morning and also fulfills extra wishes. Also with the freshly brewed coffee in the thermos can we found a good idea. The hotel has a small menu card in the evening and our snack with fresh vegetables was super delicious. One thing is sure we will come back to every case.

I 'd like to go back

We have only the critical point that, in relation to the price, the furnishing of the room and the condition of the bathroom are overhaul-worthy and quite simple and old-fashioned. The latter, however, is of course a matter of taste. Everything was really very, very clean, so that some 5* hotels can still have a look. The spacious room (with magnificent views!) was thoroughly cleaned in the morning. The reception and the accommodation were more than original. Friendly and open-minded were the host and the staff.

It's simple, it's heartfelt, it's clean.

We were a group at the Petersgrat Hotel one night in April. We were very, very warmly welcomed. The food was excellent and the rooms were simple but super clean. The next morning at half past five we had a great breakfast and afterwards our hosts also drove us to the starting point for our five-day ski tour. I can only recommend this hotel further:-)

Host with Heart

Once again we have experienced that when you cultivate true friendship - it is so easy and fruitful when guest and host love each other warmly. Fam. Jaggi in the Petersgrat is very clear to us - warmly kind and also wonderful. We felt very well although the weather had cooled a little bit bitterly - but the wines, the food, even the pear distillate were exquisitely good and ready for us. Recommended for anti-snobs that a guest here never goes like hops...
