We stopped for lunch. The restaurant looks ordinary inside…but…the service is very well trained indeed. We ordered pizza and salad…very good indeed…the pizza was the best I had in 30 years 😲😋😋😋 We had a 50cl bottle of Valais wine…Diolinoir….a very good wine too. The salad was very fresh and a wonderful homemade sauce too.

This restaurant is a hidden great tip of you are going to The Valais in Switzerland…and stop for lunch or dinner on the way to Zermatt 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊👍👍

An excellent Italian restaurant…with the best pizza in Valais 🍕😋

Great room, friendly staff, and the hotel has a lovely restaurant and pizzeria. We hope to come back and stay for longer next time. We arrived later than planned due to a missed train, and were late for our dinner reservation, but this was no problem at all. 

Fantastic

We stayed here on our walk of the Haute Route. The manager Peter was super helpful and welcoming, we had great rooms with balconies and a fantastic dinner and a great breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Lovely welcoming place to stay

After a long day hiking this was a great place to stay the night. Comfortable rooms and amazing pizza in the restaurant. A really generous breakfast. The Manager, Peter, was very welcoming. Would Definitely recommend if trekking through the Swiss Alps.

Great place to stay during the Haute Route

We recently passed through St Niklaus while hiking the Haute Route and would highly recommend this hotel.  From the time of booking, Peter was super quick to respond and very helpful with any questions prior to arrival. The restaurant is absolutely packed but they were able to squeeze us in for some delicious salads and pizza... and the breakfast is incredible! The best of our trip so far!  Great value for money and a warm welcome...a wonderful visit all around. Thanks Peter and team!

Wonderful hospitality in St Nik!

Hotel La Reserve was one of the best places we stayed at during the Haute Route over summer. We arrived on a hot afternoon and Peter the owner put us in a great room with a roomy/cool balcony. The hotel is nice and clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The pizza was huge for dinner & we left early the next morning and had the entire breakfast room to ourselves. St Niklaus itself is a short stroll into town and right on the train line between Visp and Zermatt. Definitely book this place if you are doing the Haute Route - slept like a baby here, ate well and forgot all the aches and pains from walking for one night!

Fantastic stay on the Haute Route

Offering a half board fixed menu OR any pizza on the menu is brilliant! Four of us all chose pizza which was delicious, and they graciously wrapped our leftover pizza in foil to carry for lunch the next day. The warm, fresh bread at breakfast was the BEST of the entire trip!

Perfect for Haute Route

If you are doing the haute route, I can strongly recommend the half board, The dinner was terrific; clearly someone knows their way around a kitchen here. Nice wine selections too. 

Our room was  a nice surprise.... huge ...with a nice large balcony, I think we got a room that connected to another room on the other side of a massive modern  dual-sink bathroom, all of which would be perfect for a larger family. We didn’t have to share the bath. It had a great showe and even little sitting area.  This hotel is a 10 min walk from the train station, and for hikers on haute rioters right on the lower path leading to Zermatt. Not sure what more you could want than this delightful inn.

Outstanding food and a fantastic room

We spent one night here at La Reserve whilst hiking the Haute Route.   What a marvellous place.   Rooms were spacious with big windows and balconies.   The bathrooms were very modern and very clean, as were the rooms.   Beds were very comfortable.   We had dinner there that evening and it was superb in every way.   Breakfast was also very good - a big variety of breads, meats, cheeses, and smoked salmon, a lovely addition.    The owner, Peter and his staff, were very friendly and pleasant.   I would highly recommend La Reserve and hope to stay there again in the future.

Superb

We arrived on the last train to St Niklaus at about 11pm after a long delay to our flight. The hotel sent a car to the station to meet us and offered to make us pizza. This was such a kind gesture after a long journey.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. I'd definitely stay again.
