Easy to reach, easy to park, very friendly staff.

A decent breakfast is served (fresh bean coffee and fresh bread croissants). The (interior of the) hotel is a bit dated, but the room is spacious and convenient.
Beds are of good quality.

Restaurants are nearby.

We used this for an overnight stay after a night out in Bex. The sisal matting underfoot felt like several hundred weary travellers had used it before, likewise the pillows. Pokey bathroom, but basically clean. Luckily I had earplugs since the noise from fast passing traffic does penetrate the rooms. Breakfast was meagre. For CHF180 a room, we felt this was poor value.

The St Christophe is an old custom's house dating back to the 16th century. The fantastic chimney and fireplace, wooden beams, high ceilings and appropriate lighting make it a romantic place suitable for couples or groups of friends. 

Being rated with Gault & Milllaut, the restaurant isn't exactly cheap and does not offer a children's menu.

Food is excellent (I would recommend meat over fish), plentiful, cooked exactly to your liking. Service is perfect, staff is knowledgeable, and whether you go for an "à la carte" or set menu, I believe you will fully enjoy the culinary experience in a warm and original setting.

Stick to Swiss local wines, you will get better value for money, and if you ask, you will get good advice. 

So All in all, a very good dining experience.

As the restaurant has a Motel extension, it is practical, especially if you enjoy drinking with your meal. However, the rooms are quite basic, although good size and clean. Bathrooms are very small and amenities at the minimum. Finally, as the hotel is located between the main road and the highway, it can be noisy if you sleep with windows open. Breakfast is also on the basic side which makes me say that $ 190.- for a double room and breakfast is really overpriced. Other than that, with a parking space right in front of your room, being within 30 minutes of ski slopes, thermal baths, and other attractions in the region, it's a good place for an overnight stop with a high level restaurant. 

If you dont intend to eat there, I wouldn't sleep there...

Great restaurant - overpriced rooms

I went to Switzerland recently for some walking and also to visit friends and sadly the weather was a bit rainy so we deeded to go exploring to find a Michelin Guide restaurant
and we ended up at Restaurant St. Christophe in Bex. What a nice surprise that was - super atmospheric with a huge log burring fireplace set on two levels with cozy tables and nooks and crannies to eat in - so it's rather private which is nice. The service was efficient and understated and the food arrived promptly and was mouth watering. Both of my friends had venison that was cooked to perfection - there was wild boar and rabbit as well on the menu - I was on a diet unfortunately so had some fish and it was really well prepared. Starters and puddings to die for and an extensive and quite interesting wine list. The owner was a smiley and polite person who welcomed us and said goodbye - a most enjoyable lunch I must say! Would return 100%

A great place to eat if you like game......

We had two double rooms for one night, plus dinner for four persons (two vegetarian). The bill was well over AUD$900. The rooms are pleasant but not luxurious, and because it is a motel rather than hotel, they are extremely overpriced. The dinner quality was excellent, and the table service competent, but the wines were heavily marked-up. We would not stay there or dine there again because it is very, very over-priced for what it provides.

Over-priced accommodation & restaurant

Betwee Lausanne and the Alps, if you are travelling to the Simplonpass, or the Grand Saint Bernard, you will see an old tower, were a custom used to be. The restaurant is to try, they offer daily a menu with 4 differents glasses of wine, changing with the seasons, or wonderful meat, cooked on an open grill, and you sit were the soldiers were doing their service, centuries ago. The hotel is simple, but clean and very quiet, perfect for a restful night during your trip. You can also take a day off, and enjoy the incredible spa in nearby Lavay. Or visit the small town of Martigny.
