We had lunch there on Friday, August 13, 2021. Unfortunately, the food (Tatar) was a huge disappointment. The dessert (Merigues Glace) was served virtually without a beating. What a feeling. Except for expenses.

Unpleasant Lunch

Simple hotel. Price/performance for Brienz is fine. Very clean rooms. The hotel has come into its years and would tolerate a gentle renovation. Very friendly staff. We ate very well in the restaurant that belongs.

Visit to Ballenberg

If you want to go to bed a little later than 6:30, go your way. The walls of the hotel are made of chewed paper. The noise of the bathrooms is unbearable. I've never seen such a poor price ratio in Switzerland. Very unfriendly reception staff. I don't recommend.

There is no sound!

I've been all over the world, but this reception at the reception was by far the most unfriendly I've ever had to experience, not just my own opinion, but the opinion of the whole group.

There is still much potential for improvement

Building happy sixties. Entrance pseudo tuberculose. Food quality disgusting.
Credit Card  paiement not accepted. The boss disconnected the cc mobile in order to get it cash. 
Service was good, the waitress did her best and was friendly.

We spent the night here spontaneously and just before that we asked by phone if it was possible to do this with a small child in a double room. We were promised the best price for direct booking. So instead of booking comfortably on booking.com, I did the lengthy process of entering all the data by mobile phone. When we paid the next morning, then the surprise: The price was higher because there were still taxes that were already charged on booking. Disappointing! To the hotel itself: It presents itself like many Swiss mid-class hotels that apparently never had money for entertainment. The rooms are probably from the 1980s and sprinkled from the corresponding charm. Unfortunately, our room is also very well-maintained. A night out was in order, but it was also not very well-maintained, even though I would not really do it with a little charm.

Something came in the years

We arrived and were greeted very kindly, and then the manager showed us our room. The toilets and showers are clean. The hotel is not first-class but clean, the top rooms. The hotel has free parking for guests. It is very well located, next to the train station, the BRB and the port. What better to ask for. We were the only guests for lunch. Despite this, there was everything. We will definitely come back.

That's nice.

We had a cozy evening with fine breakfast (large portions), the price-performance ratio matched. Very attentive and friendly service and a cozy atmosphere.

Dinner with family

The hotel is located right by the train station and the shipyard. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious. Only the breakfast buffet would have given me a little more choice.

It's a good mid-range hotel.

We stayed in Brienz with friends as we wanted to have a perfect starting point for our trips in the mountains and around the lakes. The location is just perfect! The railway station and harbour in front of the hotel, a supermarket is 10 metres away and you are just a minute walk from the town’s restaurants, shops, sea promenade, Rothornbahn station and/or tourist paths. The rooms are just average, we overlooked the backyard which was quite noisy in the morning because of the Rothornbahn station and supermarket storage. Bathroom was shared which was okay as it was shared among us friends (but would not have been so if we would have been one room only). The hotel restaurant and breakfast was fine, nothing extra special. The staff was nice and friendly. Good place for a traveller, nothing more nothing less.
