Very nice hotel and restaurant, I highly recommend. It's almost right by the Brien lake. Very close to the train station and shopping. Although on the street, it was very quiet. The staff were all very friendly. The rooms were generous, clean and very comfortable bed. Breakfast, everything fresh and plenty of choice. Dessert, excellent. Price is right.

Dinner and dinner

We were allowed to come by for a short time at noon and were spoiled after all. The kitchen is unbeatable! The service - just wonderful! How wonderful I/we have found nowhere during all the holidays. Thank you very much for the perfect hospitality!

One of the best cuisines in the Upper Country

Generous rooms, warm welcome, fine food, friendly service. Price performance absolutely top and in close proximity to the lake and walkway or hiking trails. Wonderful recreation from the first moment.

Purely holiday feeling

We stayed at this hotel for one night and were very pleasantly surprised by the friendly service. Parking is available right behind the house (not so convenient at all hotels). Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and good, and the hotel is only a five-minute walk from the train station. Opposite the hotel you can come directly to the beach promenade of the lake and enjoy the view. We were very satisfied.

Romantic hotel in good condition with great service and parking facilities

The Steinbock Hotel is located in the centre of Brienz with parking. I recommend the rooms on the street side with access to a terrace. The rooms are very well furnished; the bathroom is particularly tasty. The breakfast is neat; everything is available. The lunch/evening is very good. The price/performance ratio is good. Overall, I expressly recommend.

Zenral hotel with good rooms and catering

Modern structure but typical local style. Excellent and central location, with reserved car parking. Clean, well maintained environment equipped with every comfort (except for the refrigerator bar and teasers in the room). We were lucky enough to have a large room with a view of the lake and balcony. Breakfast not huge in choice but complete and very courteous and available. Prices especially for us Italians are not low, but certainly suitable for Switzerland. The hotel like the whole of Brienz is Its surroundings will surely remain in our heart for a long time.

We checked in early and there was no problem here. 

The location is ideal in that it sits near the middle of the town of Brienz, close to the trains and lake front. It looks like a classic Swiss or Austrian "Zimmer". There was parking across the street and behind the facility.

The owners were cordial and proper and showed us to our room which was amazing. Spacious, organized, tidy, clean (with clean lines) and VERY roomy. Everything is wood and the balcony (also spacious) was amazing. The roof covering the balcony is at an angle such that you can't see the entire view to the lake unless sitting down but then again the sun was out and very strong so this was OK.

The bed and furniture was very comfortable. The next morning we ate a sumptuous served breakfast and maybe due to the low season there was another couple in the gorgeous dining room. 

The dining room also serves as the local bingo hall (called "lotto") which I discovered the previous night much to my surprise.

All and all this was a fabulous hotel, centrally located, near public transport and the lake front. The facility was clean and VERY comfortable.

The owners did not speak much English but we managed in broken German and English. This place was excellent.

Great Hotel / Restaurant and (maybe) Cultural center for the town

It's a nice hotel in general, with a great view and big rooms. Unfortunately, we didn't know if the reservation had arrived until shortly before we left for Brienz, because it was never confirmed, and we had to call. The next fauxpas was at breakfast the next morning.

A pleasant stay with a few small patches

Short weekend stay. Super furnished. Large, spacious and clean rooms. Large and modern bathroom. Very friendly reception and service. Breakfast is not luxurious but perfectly sufficient and fresh.

It's a great hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for a few days in June and can't relate to the few negative comments. The staff were very friendly and hospitable, the rooms were absolutely clean and pleasant, the food was also without reproach, and I will be happy to use this hotel again the next time I stay.
