As our usual friends house was out of bedrooms, we were looking for an affordable place to sleep in Celerina during Christmas and New Year's. We came across the Sportlerzimmer from Frau Aebli and were easily convinced. As we'd be out all day, in our friends house, we didn't much room. Only a place to sleep and to shower. The Sportlerzimmer are good for that. They are very compact (the owner herself calls them her ' Bonsai'  rooms) so do not expect to be able to sit indoors all day. They are for 'Sportier': people who ski or hike or are otherwise outside engaged.
The owner, Frau Aebli, is a very kind woman who takes good care of her guests. A few days before we arrived, she asked if we wanted an upgrade to room Lukarne. This room, which is also a studio, is a little bigger. We were happy we accepted her offer because the other two Sportlerzimmer were indeed quite small. Especially because they are top floor attic rooms. The Lukarne room has much more headspace. It has a large bathroom with a bathtub and enough room to dry your towels and clothes. The kitchenette in the room has everything you need: microwave, 2 hot plates, coffee maker and all glass and silverware. The beds are comfortable, the storage space is sufficient. There is enough here to feel yourself at home.
