The hotel is in a village near Sion, where the big commercial centers are located (500-900 m). Near the start to many hikings in the region, the hotel is a elder building on a local road with plenty of parking spots.
The room we got had quite old furniture but very clean. The size is not bad and the shower boxes are good for the purpose. I wish only that the bed would be a bit better (thicker mattress). The staff is very friendly as well and at breakfast you get a nice croissant as well (on top of the usual). 
But the big surprise is the restaurant. Divided in 2 parts, upstairs and downstairs, it has a wooden oven pizzeria. On the menu you will find as well cheese fondues, tartare, steak and fondue chinoise. We ordered a Fondue Bacchus, which is a beef fondue with a broth with added wine and plenty of herbs. The meat quality was great and the sauces homemade. We really enjoyed it!

Some good things and other that could be improved, but the restaurant is great

Stayed recently as my husband was taking part in the Grand Raid mountain bike ride from Verbier to Grimentz and we didnt want to pay silly money to stay in a Novotel etc.

This is a small non-chain hotel just outside of Sion in the Valais region surrounded by vine yards. We emailed prior to arrival that both my husband and I are allergic to feathers and they went and bought non-feather items just for us. FANTASTIC! 

Pizzeria in the basement is well worth a visit and has an wonderful wood pizza oven and some of the best thin crust pizzas we have had in a long time! Try some of the local wine too - I had the local Chardonnay which was fantastic.

Breakfast is typically Swiss and not a huge selection but very good none the less. A fresh croissant is set at every place setting and then you can also choose from cereal, yogurt, fruit, cheese and other breads. Coffee is typically French - very strong and in small cups!!

Check in is a little hap-hazard in that you need to go to the bar to find someone but that was an excuse for a large beer after!!! 

Also, if you wish, it is well worth pre-ordering either the fire roasted Chicken or the spare ribs (they need 24 hours notice) as these are also FANTASTIC. With the ribs, be prepared to get messy!

Only downside - our room was over the outside terrace, so if we had the windows open, and if anyone was smoking outside, their smoke rose straight into our room!

Overall, would we return? MOST CERTAINLY!

Quaint Swiss hotel

Good points: Helpful staff who were willing to change our rroms to met bed configuration request. Off-street parking & location (enroute to Italy).

Bad points: Dinner overpriced (CHF22 for a v.basic curry) and limited choice on menu + availability. Rooms smelt of smoke and sheets/pillows/towels stale. 

Decor and ambience had a definate 1970's feel to it !

1970's Throwback

It was a bit noisy from the busy road nearby, and it was rather hot in the room. However, it was clean and we got a decent breakfast. Pleasant, helpful and efficient staff. there is a nice pizzeria downstairs.
