Our family of four (plus a small dog) needed a place to spend just one night and we found this hotel online. The hotel is in such a gorgeous setting. We enjoyed the hiking trails nearby and our little boys loved the playground and river trail. Breakfast was great....it was all so fresh! My favorite part was walking through the halls of the hotel and looking at the various photos of the hotel dating back to 1906. It made you feel like you had gone back in time. I really hope we can go back and stay here again!

What a beautiful place to stay!

My partner booked this as a surprise during our tour of Europe, and honestly I wish we could have stayed more than one night. The building itself is so period and stunning, the host such a welcoming and chatty lady, and the room was comfortable with a nice bath! The location, high up surrounded by lush greens, is just heavenly. The whole place has an antique, rustic feel, with special little touches such as the wide corridors, rocking chair on the third floor, and the vintage radio in the breakfast room. We’ll be back for sure!

Wow wow wow

Around 1 hour drive from Lucern a good stay if you wanted to feel the taste of swiss country side. The road is extremely scenic all the way to the Fluhli town. 

Fluhli a small town, but extremely quite and beautiful. a small river right across the road in front of the hotel. a church and the Town center.

Now about the hotel a extremely beautiful property with well maintained rooms and excellent view from the balcony.  All the rooms are very big and wooden paneled all around. The hotel is more than 100 years old property but modernized periodically.  The lady at the reception was very helpful and offered her best service at all times. 

The only problem we faced was that, we can hear the people talking in the next room as walls are only wooden paneled.

Toooo good a location

I must first comment on the management level of attentiveness and friendliness, they are the most accommodating people I have ever met, I guess the place belongs to them and they are the owner, but even I would not like people checking in at 12 midnight, but they do! Lucky us.

We were well taken care of, the carpark was just besides the hotel, it was off peak so it's empty, though the skii station is almost filled to the brim. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel, travelling up to the skii station or down to the train station where you can catch a train to anywhere in switzerland. For those who are not familiar with swiss bus and rail system, you can just buy your ticket from the bus driver while boarding the bus, just check your schedule and inform him when and where you want to go.

Although if you are there purely to skii, it might be a good idea to stay near the skii station, but much more crowded and you probably walk, wearing the stiff skii shoe, more than if you stayed here. nice quiet location, beautiful balcony view, soft church bell toll, a cow farm nearby, restaurant along the street. Best place for non-skiier to lounge the time away.

Beautiful hotel with very personalized service

I had the opportunity to stay at the hotel Mid January 2022 as there was not enough space at the cabin further up the resorts.  The note is clean and newly refurbished.  Halls are wide but the rooms are a bit small.  Despite this they are clean and with very basic amenities. 

The room I had did not have a TV, the wardrobe could barely cope with the weight of the ski jackets and other clothing, was nervous the hanger support would collapse.  The views from the rooms are great but also way to intimate for the bathrooms.  The rooms and bathroom windows are missing internal blinds.  

As per valued for money, I paid local price but regular pice was very much on the high side.  Given a choice, this would not be my first choice.  Payment methods for a hotel in a resort should also cover al forms of payment.  The hotel did not accept AMEX despite the lady taking the reservation saying it did.

The hotel looks to be recently refurbished, it is a nice try yet it appears that the departments did not come together.  Some elements could have been done with better quality materials and finishes.  The night was comfortable, yet, it would be nice to have a bit more privacy by means of blinds or thicker curtains.

Nice hotel, Grand Building but lacks identity.

The Swiss Spirit Hotel Kurhaus in Fluehli is over 100 years old and still looking much the same from outside. Rooms are simple, with wood panels, bathroom is modern. No fridge is a minus. Our room was next to the large balcony facing the main street. The balcony is in urgent need for renovation and that is now in the pipeline. The hotel is in the very heart of the town, opposite to the Post office, which is the stopping place of the bus from Schupfheim.  There are two goceries within 100 m and two restaurants and the church. ATM 200 m away and you will find a doctor in the same building (we needed one during our stay and hotel manager helped with that). Service level was low during our stay, there was hardly ever any staff at the reception and no restaurant was open. Breakfast for about 15 Fr per person was fine. You can start trekking tours right from the hotel. June is not the best month to visit Fluehli, because restaurants are mostly on holiday, but also you can visit the trekking trails without seeing hardly anyone. Rothorn and Chessiloch waterfalls were fantastic destinations.
