Photos alone cannot capture the amazing beauty and ambience of Ca' Serafina. This traditional, historic B&B set in the quaint Maggia Valley elicits a feeling of nostalgia for the slower, simpler days of the past. However, the interior updates, extra touches and attention to detail assure you are not without all the modern comforts. Ca' Serafina is not just a place to stay, but a memorable experience in itself.

Stunning B&B

In a quiet location in a traditional village (but no need for narrow switchback roads to get there), this is a beautifully renovated stone house. Furnishings are good, and the rooms a generous size. Beautifully clean and well-cared for. This is a small hotel and so there's no "desk" just a very interested owner who speaks multiple languages and lives nearby. She really cares about how to keep her guests happy. There is parking very nearby (free and easy). Excellent breakfast buffet (outside if it's good weather). I can't think of anything negative to say!

My family and I were pleasantly surprised by the lovely rooms and the attractive bathrooms. Everything was clean and looked brand new, even though the Ca' Serafina has been operational for 14 years. Owner Alexa is very warm and welcoming, very hands-on, which one notes immediately in the details that make the rooms and bathrooms so attractive and functional.  
We had a family event at Ca' Serafina and occupied all the rooms. On the night we arrived we had a delicious gourmet dinner, starting with aperos and ending with a tasty dessert. Breakfast was very good too.

Beautiful B&B

We have stayed at Ca' Serafina twice, the first time in 2000 and the second time in 2003. Lodano is a beautiful old village in the Vallemaggia with wonderfully restored granite houses, a town square and a church in the Vallemaggia not far from Lucarno on the north end of Lago Maggorie. There is a river just down the road with a beach that is wonderful during the summer. 

Ca' Serafina is one of the restored old granite houses on the small cobblestone streets. Parking is nearby. The Inn is very clean and well appointed and the food and wine were superb. This is a very quiet area and is a good place to stay to explore the valle or lake. You can relax at the Inn or hike the valley or mountains. There are numerous restaurants in the area all with great food and Lucarno is close enough to spend the day if you choose.

Magic Bed and Breakfast in the Magic Valley

In the heart of an authentic Ticino village, an old house has been restored and turned into a tasteful guest house. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of delicious local products. A house full of charm where one feels well looked after. I would certainly go back there, but considering its price NOT to the Junior suite; situated just under the roof, the room is not really to be recommended for tall guests or elderly people who find bending down not so easy ! We did appreciate the tea tray with the kettle in the room. Apart from breakfast, no meals are provided; in nearby villages, pleasant local Ticino restaurants are to be found.
