Since I can't stay in my house in Unterdorf 6 (everyone else already;-)), I retired to the Eagle Nest. Super easy, Mrs. Blättner 2x instantly accessible by phone, loving facilities, super breakfast and service. Nicca from Brazil is extremely sweet; I was suddenly completely sweaty, weak, and dizzy... almost collapsed in the morning - and she helped me lovingly... thank you😘 thank you... And, she rents her nice house right off the coast of an island like me, but somewhere else😉... Vamos a la playa 😁Good luck!

Although it was Easter and it was very difficult to get accommodation at a reasonable price, we asked at the BnB Adler. This accommodation is designed more for individual guests... and yet we were actively offered by phone for our situation... double room 1st, 2 kids and a single room... something very ordinary is the virtual reception over the phone.

Spontaneous accommodation for 2 children

We stayed here as we were visiting friends locally.  Despite (Booking.com) paperwork advising that check in was between 5pm & 8pm, by 5.30pm we were contacted by phone to ascertain our time of arrival and what time we would require breakfast.  The hosts didn't actually reside at the B&B and so we were provided with a building access code. 
The accommodation was clean and functional, but very utilitarian and in no way luxurious or inviting.  Breakfast was basic.  The accommodation was most definitely NOT worth the price paid (equivalent of £124).  I'd have expected to pay no more than £60-£70 for such a room.  Paperwork advised that check out was by 9am - pretty early in this day and age.

we were recommended to have lunch at this restaurant in the Hotel Adler for a local flavor and meals...We found it easily only a few blocks from the river and 10 minutes from the train station. While we did nit stay at the Hotel we did enjoy our lunch; the service of our waiter Marcel was just fine...friendly and the food we had was great

Having read on TRIPADVISOR and elsewhere a load of absurd and even funny (in their total departure from reality) comments on the Hotel Adler in Bauma,  after my return to Israel I invest a quarter of hour to try to reestablish the truth.

It is ABSOLUTELY FALSE that:

-the blonde lady owner of the hotel is an old, ugly, villain and hysteric witch, absolutely unaware of politeness. She is, on the contrary, a classy Swiss woman and a  courteous and helpful host, who evidently loves her work and is happy when her guests are happy of it. The same can be said of her (beautiful) daughter.

-at breakfast, she forces the clients to swallow quickly the food (like gooses destined to provide "pate' de foie gras"), in order to send them away as soon as possible. I had beakfast three times at the hotel, and the atmosphere was always friendly and relaxed.

-the breakfast is horrible. I have always had delightful "croissants", bread and butter, yoghurt and coffee; as an Israeli I was not interested in ham, salami etc. but I saw the other guests enjoying them.

-she threatens to call the Polizei if somebody asks to pay by credit card. She simply applies a small surcharge on it; I know that, when the business/shop is small, the cost of the POS service is not negligible for the owner so this is standard practice also in other countries. This issue, moreover, is not a surprise but is clearly stated in the hotel's website, and one can easily draw some money from an ATM nearby. If the client is not happy with that, he can  always book an hotel in Banhofstrasse, Zurich instead....

-the hotel is dirty and messy. This is a B&B and you will not find luxury XIXth century furniture in the rooms, but everything is clean, tidy and the cleaning lady is already at work at 8:00 in the morning. 

IT IS ONLY MARGINALLY TRUE THAT:
-the church bell, ringing every 15 min., forces the guests not to sleep. The bell has a very nice and melodious sound and after 1 hour one gets accustomed with it (unless he suffers from insomnia): it is part of the atmosphere of this lovely village in the Zurcher Oberland. Moreover, as the bell is not specifically aimed to Hotel Adler but is heard in all Bauma, and I have not got the impression that the inhabitants were rushing to convert to Islam to reduce these damned 24x4=96 rings per day to the 5 calls per day of the muezzin, I conclude that also the client of Hotel Adler can live with it.

IT IS TRUE THAT:
-this is an hotel for early risers. It is family-managed (I have the impression that the owners could be also farmers because they were around very early in the morning, but this is just my guess) and the majority of the clients are business travelers or contractors of civil works that have to leave as soon as possible in the morning anyway, so it is convenient to be tuned with the habits of the majority and set the alarm 1 hour in advance. In the summer, when we have light at 5:15, one can wake up without specific difficulty, but a folk suffering to wake in the dark -like me- could feel more uneasy deep in the winter.

Summarizing: Hotel Adler is a lovey place with extremely convenient prices (especially for Switzerland!) and friendly ownership. From Bauma, it is easy to reach the Central Zurich/Oerlikon/Kloten area (but ask the blonde lady for directions, one could choose the wrong road among the hills!) , and the landscape you see in the route is breathtaking. I recommend this location to all the readers of this forum, and I will definitively return if I will have other business trips to Zurich in the future.

A wonderful B&B in the Zurcher Oberland

This is not an hotel! It's the worst place I have ever been in my life. When I arrived at the hotel nobody was there at the reception. I had to dial a number indicated on the door. They left the keys of my two rooms in the post box. Breakfast is only until 8:00 am. At 8:00 am a lady knocked at my room asking to leave the room until 9:00 am. and also to be paid by then. The heating was totally off during the night. Dirty around the stairs.
A nightmare !!!!

Don't go to this place!!!!!!!!!!

We were having a party in a village up the road, so many guests chose to sleep over instead of driving home. They were spread in various hotels in the area. 4 rooms were booked at Adler for our guests. There is no reception, one has to phone a number to connect with the owner, and go to the hotel according to her schedule.
I simply could not believe the treatment of these guests by the hotel owner(s). They were ordered when to come down for breakfast as the owner(s) had other things to do. One couple was woken at 8 am on Sunday morning with loud banging on their door and told to get dressed and get out, the room is needed for someone else.  They explained that they were, in fact, staying another night as their flight is on Monday.  The other couples have all reported about the breakfast dragon, unfriendly, throwing their breakfast on the tables, almost shoving it down their throats to get them out.  The couple staying another night was ordered to have breakfast between 6 and 8 am today and then clear out - checkout times obviously don't exist.  As a Swiss local, I am deeply ashamed of such treatment of visitors to our country and will certainly never recommend this guest house.
We'd be better off sending our guests to the local prison for the night.  Rudeness and such unacceptable behaviour towards customers do not belong in the tourism industry (or any other), and if they hate running the hotel, they should find something else to do!
