Think of this place as a dorm with a fantastic view and a good free breakfast.

Our family stayed in the 5 bed room which fit 2 adults, 3 kids, and a baby.  Rest room is dorm style.  On one wing is the women's, on the other is the men's.  

Check-in and check-out is in the restaurant, which took me a little bit to figure out since there's no reception area.

The hotel seems to cater to families and groups.  Not many singles there while we were there.

There is a shared balcony outside the rooms.  So, if you leave your balcony door open, anybody on the same floor can come inside your room.  

The view from the balcony is one of the best I've ever seen in a hotel.  

There is no A/C or fans in the rooms.  But, it was not too much of a problem for us, even in August.

The breakfast is free and it was actually pretty good.  The butter tasted better than any I've ever had.  

The decor around the hotel is a bit eccentric, but makes the hotel have it's own charm.
 
If you're looking for a cheap hotel for lots of people and want a great view and a good breakfast, this is it.

View and breakfast makes it worth it

I have stayed at this place in May 2915. Very peaceful place & close to the bus stop from the Hotel. Also ski lift in 5 min walking distance if you are on ski trip thisi would be ideal place to be in.

Excellent place very peaceful

Our family of four stayed here last summer. It was almost empty and there's gnome "art" everywhere, so that gave it a weird vibe. Shared bath and showers. We really enjoyed hiking around the countryside -- great place if you need a cheap place to crash.

Weird place, but cheap with a nice view

We stayed in Ferienhous Wasserwendi after a day out in Ballenberg (which we highly recommend as a day out with kids). The accommodation is simple - we had a 5 bed room with toilets and showers in the hall. All very clean and proper, with great views over lake Brienz and delicious food in the spacious dining room (with toys for the kids to play with). We were 2 families, and managed to get rooms on-the-spot for the night for a very reasonable price.

Clean, simple and inexpensive family accommodation

Before every booking I read reviews so I knew this hotel looks like a hoStel on top of a mountain. The room was very clean and the single beds were comfortable. Very thin walls.  Sharing bathrooms and showers. Spectacular view. Check-in and Check-out inside the restaurant. The "make yourself" pizza was really tasty. We stayed just one night to visit the Aare Gorge and hike to the Trift Bridge. For this purpose it was ok. I wouldn't stay longer.

Correct - not a bad surprise

After a day of motoring under a constant flood to see Wasserwendi materialize from a thick fog has not had a price. The possibility of parking on the rooftop is excellent. Let's say that the structure is similar to a hostel and is very simple with large and spacious rooms with bathrooms and showers on the common floor. The balcony is also common and with the good weather gives an exceptional panoramic view!! Having arrived at the kitchen already closed for lunch we gave ourselves a cold snack. salumi, cheeses, cold vegetables from salad-bar and beer. The breakfast is very good, bread of different types, salumi, marmalade cheeses and a loud milk, really excellent.

Exceptional scenery

Price is right, and the dwarf rooms are hearty. But the whole house is very old and has been very well entertained. Very low-key. You can't compare it to a hotel rather than a mountain cabin. Breakfast is simple but good. Service seems quickly overwhelmed and stressed.

For kids top, for parents a challenge

We decided to go skiing for two days in Switzerland and we chose this accommodation following the reviews given on tripadvisor... verdict... average... The room is simple and clean whereas the bathroom and the toilet on the floor... The walls are not very thick, we can follow the conversation of the neighbors. The non-occult curtains are unpleasant and sharing the balcony with all the neighbors does not leave a private sphere. We have a very nice view of our room on the other hand. The accommodation is expensive for a night...142 CHF! 2 adults and a child... for the fact that the packages are not given and that we are in a village where there is nothing... a superb sports store...
