What a wonderful place. Situated in beautiful and peaceful village in the Alps, with wonderful hosts. There is easy parking and the three main bedrooms all have a small outside terrace, with a table, chairs and a parasol, looking out over the mountains. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

The breakfast room is available for guests to use all day. There is a kettle and coffee machine and even two small hot plates, so you can cook a quick meal. The breakfast was lovely, with a choice of breads, cereals, cheese, jams etc. and cooked food was available to order. We really enjoyed Ruth's scrambled eggs!

This is an ideal spot for walking and a visitor card gives you free local public transport if you stay for two nights or more. We made use of the cable car down into Meiringen and the cog railway up to Brünig.

Like many other reviewers, we felt really at home here. Ruth and Heinz are really lovely hosts and it was a pleasure to stay with them. We hope to return again, one day.

What a wonderful place with lovely hosts

I spent 3 nights and days as an "out time" for myself and could not have been at a better place. The owners are super friendly and hospitable. There is everything you need, including a sauna. Then, of course, there is the proximity to the cable car up to the ski and hiking routes, or down to the village of Meiringen. A stay to remember!

Cosy, clean, friendly

We enjoyed 2 nights in this wonderful boarding house. Beautiful and clean rooms. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of the snow mountains. The versatile breakfast buffet leaves no wishes open. A homey atmosphere. The hospitable homeowners are very hospitable and happy to help with the planning of interesting hiking routes. In conclusion: highly recommended!

Perfect accommodation!

Very warm and personalized reception, friendly presence of guests upon arrival at breakfast. Spacious room, with small terrace, mountain views. Very nice busy breakfast buffet, with even freshly picked mountain blueberries. Quiet location, near the mechanical lifts and near a restaurant. There is also a grocery store in Reuti, not far from the accommodation.

A warm welcome and a pleasant stay

A truly perfect B&B. Absolute peace of mind. Excellent cleanliness. Very kind owners and ready to help you with everything. A fantastic breakfast with quality products. Tea and coffee available to guests and a nice garden to relax on the drawers.

It's just fabulous!

There are four bedrooms in the chalet of which we had two for us and our teen son. 

The host/owners are just lovely friendly and obviously proud of their perfectly-maintained place. Breakfast is just fabulous to our tastes, a big selection of breads, sliced ham, cheeses, cereals, fruit, eggs ... excellent coffee. Perfect. For other meals there are restaurants and hotels a short walk or drive away.

We loved the place and the hosts. Beds very comfortable. The whole place is barefoot-clean. A zillion TV channels in various languages including BBC. Quiet as can be at night. 

My sole complaint is the shower is small for my 6' 200 lb frame so I kept hitting the control lever which results in a hot/cold shock! Also the soap dish in the shower needs to be replaced, the soap falls through constantly and is a struggle to pick it up! 

Otherwise zero complaints and much to like. 

The ski gondola is a 2-minute walk across the narrow street. 

It's located in a cute Swiss mountain village we also liked very much, 90 minutes drive from Zurich. Perhaps 30 minutes to Interlachen the famed music festival and tourism town.

It's quite a twisty drive up the mountain the get in-and out, which only adds fun.

Charming quiet ski pension that's also a comfortable Swiss bargain

This pension feels comfortable to stay in.  The breakfasts have over 10 different kinds of local cheese, et al.  The owners are good to talk to and knowledgeable about the area.  The property has a good view since it has some altitude.  It is an especially good place for being out of the way from all the people in the major touristy areas.  It is also good starting point for easy or difficult hikes - all of them beautiful.

Friendly comfortable place

The chalet Berkana is not only absolutely great if you want to go up to the ski area - it is also run by a charming couple who are absolutely professional, family and charming to the guests. The rooms are as clean as hardly anything else, nicely decorated, no chichi, but all it needs during the ski holiday is there: refrigerator, TV, great shower with good radiation and a small sauna. We are happy to come back and really want to recommend this house too!

Every year to the new TOP

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2016 and had a wonderful time. The chalet is located in a beautiful, little village with breath taking views of the Swiss alps. We had a room on the bottom floor with private bathroom and door straight onto the terrace which was furnished with outdoor furniture. We sat there in the evenings until the sun went down, it was beautiful and peaceful! Just outside our room was a a small playroom with toys and books, perfect for our 2 small children!

The room was clean and large enough for our little family of four. The wifi worked well in the room but unfortunately, it did not work outside on the terrace.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. They recommended that we take the lift up the mountain (located just 50 meters or so from the chalet) and then follow the children's hiking trail down. This was perfect for us! The trail was themed after a local children's book and along the trail were several activity stations where the children could play. There were even grill pits with firewood so we brought hotdogs with us and made lunch along the way. It was perfect and relaxing. There were swiss cows ringing their bells along the way. We enoyed this hike so much that we did it two days in a row!

Breakfast at the chalet was lovely. There were many kinds of cheese, cereal, yogurt,  bread, eggs etc. The owners asked us what we would like and when we wanted to eat. There is even a nespresso-like machine where you can help yourself anytime of day!

We stopped at this chalet on our drive down to Italy (from Sweden) and stopped in the Austrian alps (Innsbruck) on our way home. The Swiss side was so much better! It's calmer, cleaner and more organized  (although restaurants and cost of living are a bit higher in Switzerland. )

In conclusion, we really loved it here and highly recommend this chalet. If hope to return!

Highly reccomend

The reception is warm and the owner is attentive to the needs. Exceptional breakfast: homemade products; possibility of cooking a dish as desired, free coffee and tea served, at will. 220V at the bedside for charging appliances. Terrace with garden, terraces and views of the mountains. Possibility of dining in the evening at Das Hotel Panorama, a 5-minute walk away.
