We stayed here over the weekend as the hotels were fully booked in Basel because of the art fair.  15 minutes on the S3 train from Basel.  The B&B is right across the road from the train station - which may bother some at night.  Our room was on a second floor.  The stairs are quite steep.  Our room was large with a sink and a sofa.  The shared bathroom is next door.  Breakfast (at extra cost) was very tasty.  I'd have no problem staying here again.

Convenient to Basel, more than adequate accommodation

I stayed for a week at the Luber Bed & Breakfast in Grellingen. The property has two cozy rooms in the attic and a common bathroom. The owners are very kind and clean. The room and bathroom are cleaned up daily. The room has a laundry room with related towels while the shower is in the common bathroom. At the customer's disposal there is soap in the dispenser, both in the laundry room and in the bathroom, no foam bath and shampoo not even in the classic single bags. There is no phonograph. There is a small TV in the room, you only get in German.

Two comfortable rooms a step from the station

Charming,patient owners, beautiful location with superb country and hills all around.

My room was spacious and warm with very comfortable single beds.
There is a basin in the room, virtually your own entrance, and a bathroom right next door which has feels as if it is your own because there is only one other room.

It is near the train track so you do get rumbling trains and the bell sounding for the barrier.You also get the church bell ringing. I don't mind any of the above and in fact you get used to it all very easily.(but not perhaps if you are a bad/light sleeper).

One added bonus is the superb restaurant run by Mr. Luber : worth visiting and staying over just for that, plus excellent breakfasts in a loving dinning room overlooking the river.it is 18 mins  by train to Basel.
All in all superb 5 star value.(But mind the trains!)
