Welcoming family-run hotel, the room was simple yet comfortable with view on the mountains across the small valley. 
Owners and staff very service-oriented and friendly. We took our dinners at the hotel and the food was very good. Breakfast was good though not a huge choice.
There is a homey feeling with the common living room area with books & family games. To the point that other travelers were in there with the door closed and their dog running around free, jumping on whoever entered. This is not an issue with the hotel obviously but with the dog's owners. We kept our own dog in our room, out of respect to staff & travelers, not everyone likes dogs! Maybe a clear rule for the common spaces would be good.
The only downside is the noise, e.g. when there are children running in the hallway you hear it well, which is absolutely to be expected in a very old wooden chalet! However, everyone was careful of the noise from a certain hour and it was fine. The pass was closed in May, so very little traffic on the road in front, it is probably noisier during the day when it is open.

Very good surprise

Big terrace with mountain views - a lovely setting for lunch in the sun. Very local style. Good menu with local and pasta choices. Plenty of cheese across many of the dishes. Friendly service. A good find. 

Lovely terrace for lunch

What a great hotel and friendly hosts. Lovely views. Great location near lakes. The food at dinner was excellent. We only stayed 1 night on a road trip through Alps to Italy and this was a perfect stop. Clean, warm and comfortable room. 

A gem!

Very comfy and homely air is all in this hotel; the home-made dishes were mouth-watering, the staff (Tannler family) was kind to the max, the WiFi was free as well as close parking lot. Surrounding scenery is breath-taking. The hotel is surely perfect for families.

A cottage-like hotel with 21st century equipment

We have just spent a week at this hotel and cannot praise it enough! The hotel is perfectly placed for the mountains with incredible views and the owners and staff without exception are extremely friendly and welcoming, striving to make your stay the best experience you can have there. The hotel is incredibly clean and the rooms are spacious and well presented and as for the restaurant, they have an amazing menu and the food was delicious. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would like to thank everyone there for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable.

Fantastic Hotel

This is a carefully and well run family business. At every level you can tell how much dedication the family has to their lovely chalet style hotel. It is moreover a happy place, beautifully and picturesquely situated at the lower reaches of the Susten pass road. Food is well cooked, and arrives piping hot. They offer generous salads (we had cold tuna salad), local smoked meat platters, but for my taste the steaks are mouth watering and come exactly as ordered. 
The interior is traditionally wood panelled and cosy, the outside terrace catches the sun and affords great views to the mountains. Every area is spotlessly clean, the service friendly and personal. This is one of my favourite places in the area.

Always a treat

We stayed at this hotel for six nights and used it as a base for various motorcycle rides through the nearby Alps.  It is perfectly centered to experience a large percentage of the most famous Swiss Alp riding.  The room was large enough to accommodate the extra motorcycle gear such as helmets and riding attire.  The showers were very nice with lots of hot water and good ventilation.  The beds were very comfortable.  The breakfasts were typical European type breakfasts with cooked eggs available upon request.  The best part of the hotel was the friendly family atmosphere.
