Me and family used this hotel as overnight stay for constance xmas market (which is fantastic and worth visit). Hotel is outdated, downstairs smells of smoke. Breakfast very limited. Room was small. Value for money ? Not really. Would we use again? No.

Once was enough

The place is old and smells cigarettes everywhere in the reception area, you have to wait for the staff after ringing the bell, the rooms are small and outdated, the mirror on the wardrobe was broken and held by a large piece of tape, the bathroom was the only nice thing for this place.
We were three people and the third bed was coming out of a sleep armchair, if you are tall there is no way you can sleep on that thing.
The pillows were so low that was like sleeping on the mattress and the bed was very uncomfortable.
The TV does not have a single channel in English, so if you don't speak German...
The restaurant area was not inviting and so was the breakfast area.

Will never go back

Front desk service is terribly slow.  Waited for several minutes for reception even after ringing the bell. Room was ok, clean but very small. Bathroom was nice, good water pressure from the shower.  In room desk was a very small area barely wide enough to hold my laptop (could not use an external mouse/pad) & Wi-Fi was terribly slow. In room telephone did not work.
Bed was ok but nothing I’d want to sleep on for more than a couple of nights (I’ve slept on sofas much more comfortable). Dining room interior is bland, boring & very old (same for the food). Typical design of any local restaurant or farmhouse, wood panelling walls, hard, uncomfortable seating. I ordered Hungarian Goulash soup & Spaghetti Bolognaise. I’ve tasted better soup from out of a can. There was nothing Hungarian about it, it was just left over goulash.  The same for the Spaghetti Bolognaise. No flavor at all (except for too much salt). Just a mass of spaghetti & some cheaply concocted, tasteless (gravey) sauce with no substance or spice. Breakfast offers the standard coffee/tea/juice cereal, yogurt, cold meats, cheese bread & jam. No bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns, toast, pancakes, fresh fruits etc.
On check out at reception, again I had to wait. I finally left my key at the desk, left & came back later.
Customer service was very poor.

Never Again

The hotel is located across the train station Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. The room are nice and clean, but nothing special (cheapest laminate wood floor). The bathroom is renovated, although probably not to everybodies taste. Although the reception is staffed until 22.30, you can walk in and out anytime using the hotel key. Bed and pillows are great. The hotel is quiet. Brekfast is included but nothing special. Staff is nice and professional, keen to provide you with the info you need. The centre of Konstanz, Germany is a 10 minute walk.

Good short stay

Reception /bar/breakfast room very dark and dingy.  Felt uncomfortable but as only at hotel for 1 night could put up with it. Breakfast buffet poor. Wifi in public areas not throughout and slow when/if it connects at all. Reception rarely manned, even with the bell you have to wait a while for assistance. Bar service good though. Room was okay but definitely nothing to write home about. Very overpriced. Will not be back there.
