Although room was simple, it was clean and  roomy, had a comfortable bed, with fantastic view. Nice pool with grape vines and lush grounds. The Food Was EXCELLENT with herbs picked from the garden. Bus stop in front only 5 min to main station and just a few more to city center/lake. Highly recommend eating here. Breakfast jams were made fresh the night before.  No elevator but we knew that in advance. Minimal toiletries. We had a  bathroom (toilet, sink, small shower) in room. Overall, a lovely stay, I would stay here again,  a real gem.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS 

For some years we have been very happy to go to this green oasis almost two steps from the center of Lugano, maintained and managed with considerable affection by Mrs. Foletti. You will like her cuisine very much and in fact many come to appreciate only the restaurant, but the pergolates and the swimming pool with the flowers and the very well-groomed plants give an extra touch of class to the site which is very well frequented by Swiss and Italians. The rooms are a little small but have a sufficient equipment for a short vacation and still the cleanliness and order reign sovereign.

A very clean hotel with a beautiful large swimming pool and a beautiful garden. A friendly and polyglot patroness, passionate about cooking (excellent home jam for breakfast).

A hotel I recommend

Although it is clean and not too far from the centre (15 minutes' walk), don't expect more than what is served at the meager snack, the quantities are rationed... there is a swimming pool but there are also strict times for its use.

Very, very average

Fine homemade menus, well-arranged, above-average, plus nice Tessin wines, new and very clean rooms, perfectly located 10 minutes from the train station, big, well-maintained garden, free parking just outside the house. We enjoyed it, we're back.

Ideal hotel with top price/performance ratio

My husband and I spent a few days at the Villa Selva from 28 September to 2 October. We had only good experiences. The owner of the hotel impresses the business with a friendly and highly professional presence. Her employees are also very friendly and attentive. The room was not very large, but bright, clean and tastefully decorated. For example, it had beautiful lamps and some strikingly chosen, for a hotel in this price class not entirely self-evident, special pieces of furniture that we liked very much. We also particularly liked the terrace and the outdoor area with the various seating facilities. Best Mrs Foletti, we would like to come again!

Clean, bright rooms, excellent cuisine with regional and seasonal dishes.

Charming hotel outside the centre. The + - Large swimming pool but closed after 6:30 p.m. - Relatively quiet - Multilingual staff The - - Light breakfast - The absence of air conditioning and refrigerator in the room. - The inability to eat or drink in the garden. - Room service: forget toilet paper and the hotel provided us with shower gel only on the first day.

Nice but nothing more.

At the entrance you will be greeted by a pergola of vines and then flowers everywhere, as well as a quiet and secluded pool. What a wonder, what a peace. The dinner was surprising, dishes unusual and very carefully taken in every detail.

Charming place.

Here's the detail of my note: - 4/5 for the place - 1/5 for the gentleness of the hostess - 5/5 for the cleanliness - 3/5 for the bedding (mattresses and pillows too hard, maybe too old?) - 1/5 for breakfast The child's place: Not too far from the center on foot even if it climbs backwards. With a child I recommend the bus that is free with the transport card offered by the hotel. Near a passing road, I put my balls that would have been nice to sleep on but my wife slept on.

Perfect garden and swimming pool but that's it.

We were very disappointed in this hotel. We were expecting a better room for 160 frs a night! When we arrived, our room had been given to someone else. The staff finally found us another room. No soap in the bathroom, flat pillows, linen that smells of dust, a highway window and very noisy, 140 cm wide bed.
