I have stayed at the hotel every Feburary for the past 6 years, due to work with the carnaval. Since they have renovated the rooms and changed the beds i must recommend this hotel!! If u need to stay in monthey this is the place to sleep!! Great location with the train station just 100m away. Staff are always so friendly and the Chef and his wife really put their heart into this place!!!

We were not planning on being in Monthey. Ended up there for Medical reasons. The staff went out of their way to help us while I was Hospitalized several days.  
Delicious dinner for overnight guests only ( the cafe is open to the public at lunch).
A special area for coffee and tea all day was a great office area . The room not large, but very clean and functional.  
Would definitely stay there again if I was back in Monthey.

Fantastic Service, wonderful room

Just stayed two nights on business in this industrial town.  Staff were very helpful.  There is a peculiar coffee/ tea making area on the first floor.  Breakfast good: good coffee, cheese ham salami, yummy fresh bread, cook your own boiled eggs.  
Its a short walk to downtown for eating out and a short walk to the massive chemical factory... handy if thats where your meeting is.

Comfortable, clean, functional

It is an old hotel well kept by the family. Rooms were good and clean. Breakfast was good with home made jam and bread.
Similar options were far more expensive.
There is nothing close, except for the station which is just across the street.

Great price

Ok place. Functional. Big enough bedrooms, old style. The building is quite old. Opposite the station. And within walking distance of the centre.

The choice of hotels in Monthey seems to be limited; this one seemed to be best (of two?).

Just for sleeping

I wouldn't recommend staying in this town, as there's nothing to do. The staff at the train station are friendly though. Make sure you check your platform, as it seems all trains leave from the same one.

Nothing here

This hotel is relatively bare bones but the facility is decent and the price is right. They also feature polite service and clean and adequate rooms. The morning breakfast is nothing elegant but is sufficient to get the day started. While it is far from a 5-star facility, the simplicity of this establishment has its own charm.

We were visiting a production facility in this industrial town and my distributor picked this hotel because it was inexpensive and right around the corner from our morning's destination. This hotel lived up to its name as it was across the street from the town's small train station. It was a sleepy little situation as the area was pleasantly quiet. There was not much around in the way of restaurants but we solved that in grand style by taking the 15-minute drive to Montreux for dinner, which was quite lovely.

We arrived late in the afternoon on a Thursday. Parking at this facility was a bit tricky as there were only a very few free spaces across the street from the front entrance. Otherwise, pay spots were available (they were free if you left early in the morning before the time restrictions kicked in). The appearance of the facility was simple but not without charm. The small lobby area was basically a hallway with a window where we picked up our keys. We were checked in by a clerk who spoke little English so our colleague had to intercede for us. We were given two keys...a room key and a key for outside entry (since the hotel was not manned overnight).

I was given a room on the first floor (Euro first floor...one level above ground level) and my colleagues were given rooms one floor higher. Unfortunately, there were no elevators. Most patrons probably come packed lightly staying only a night or two. But I was on the tail end of a three week stint away from home and was packed heavier than most. Hence, the lack of an elevator was not convenient.

Upon entry, I found the room to be nicer than I anticipated. The decor was refreshingly simple with relatively nice, classic furnishings. The view was likewise unexciting but nice enough. My room faced the balcony having a door that opened out onto the deck. The work area was adequate and the WiFi worked well. The bed was sufficiently comfortable which, along with the quietude, allowed me to get a good night's sleep. The only thing that was decidedly inconvenient was the lack of a telephone in the room.

The morning breakfast was quite basic but it served the purpose. It was presented in  a quaint dining room that was pleasantly sunny in the morning. There were only cold offerings along with coffee, tea and juice but it worked out well enough.

The room rates were very reasonable and fair for the level of accommodations. My room was CHF 100 which was a little more than $108 USD as per the exchange rate at the time. I thought this was a good bargain.

Overall, this is not a bad hotel and a good option if you have business in Monthey. The facility is quaint, the rooms are simple but nice and the service is pleasant. The morning breakfast is adequate and the room rates are very reasonable. It is really not a bad deal.
