Very comfortable and clean hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodated changes to our initial booking in a  helpful and professional manner. We had a nice dinner served on the balcony.  The breakfast buffet, which is included in the nightly tariff,  was plentiful, including different types of bread, cold meats, cheese and jams. I would very happily stay there again.

Clean and comfortable stay

We had a room with a balcony and nice ensuite and a clever use of timber to give the room a Swiss chalet feel.  The view was excellent accross the lake to snow covered mountains (the afternoon sun was a problem till we lowered the canvas awning.)  The location is high up a hill so you need to be reasonably fit and allow 15 minutes to haul your suitcases up from the ferry.  The hotel has some quirky features which give it character.  Would we stay there again? Definitely.  Reasonable price by Swiss standards

Comfortable

The hotel is basic but cheap by Swiss standards although if you want en suite facilities make sure you book them. The location is convenient for public-transport users being near a bus stop. The restaurant is frequented by the locals and msut be one of eh few palcs where people smoke in a public place. The food is standard Swiss fare and is quite well done. The standout dish was the Kirsch cream cake.

Basic, clean comfortable hotel

The hotel ist ok, not fany at all but very clean and very well situated. 
The breakfast is simple but tasty, and the service is nice too.
If the sun shines, there is a nice terrace. 
The rooms are small and very low (old building). The furniture is really old, but it is clean and serves its purpose. 
The bed is ok, mattrase is not amazing but good enough.
The toilet with shower comfortable with nice towels. 
So nothing special, but there is not a lot to choose from in the Muotatal unfortunately (or fortunately = not many tourists)

Practical and clean

The only hotel in Muotathal to have rooms with en-suite facilities. We booked two rooms on the phone directly with the proprietor and confirmed twice. When we turned up on the day with a 10 yo child and two suitcases we were told that they have made a mistake and NO ROOM was available! It seemed like a large group of tourists turned up the same day and they disregarded out bookings completely! Never happened to me in my whole life - I qualify it as totally unprofessional!
They made a little attenmpt to find us an alternative accomodation 7 km away in another B&B with shared facilities at the end of a corridor... No, thank you. We had to cancel our overnight stay in Muota and return home...
