Very healthy breakfast, great rustic ambiance, charmingly decorated, and, since you will normally not be the only guest, you may be as lucky as we were to have some interesting conversations in the lounge with other guests.  And great advantage is getting the Free Access card as a benefit of staying in Les Diablerets: you get to use shuttlebus from the train station to Col du Pillon, then transfer to a smaller shuttle to Isenay.  We were hiking and that was all we needed to get up to some great hikes in the area.  Very friendly owners - nothing is too much for them to handle and resolve! .

Wonderful chalet experience!

Le Madrier is a very clean and comfortable B+B and was ideal for our short skiing trip.  The rooms are a good size and there is a range of double, twin and family rooms - some with a balcony.  There is also a large communal lounge/dining room, also with a balcony and great views.  The whole property is as you would imagine a traditional swiss chalet, and is very clean and comfortable.

The owners are very friendly and speak English.

For breakfast there was a good selection of cereal, bread, meat, cheese, yoghurt and home-made jams.  Packed lunches and evening meals can also be provided - although the evening meal needs to be ordered at breakfast and a packed lunch the night before.  We had a fondue on our first night which was very good.

The bathrooms are shared - there are 2 bathrooms between the 6 rooms.  This was not a problem for us as there was only 1 other room taken while we were there.  I can imagine if it was full, especially if everyone is skiing and gets back at the same time, then this could be a down side.

The B+B is located in Vers L'Eglise just outside Les Diablerets - it is a 2 minute drive or 15/20 minute walk to Les Diablerets, which is where all the main facilities are.  Although there is a ski lift nearby in Vers L'Eglise it is down a very steep hill, so is a big walk back up at the end of a days skiing!  There is also a railway station close by in Vers L'Eglise on the Aigle-Diablerets line, adjacent to the ski lift - it is possible to get to here from Geneva airport with a couple of connections.  We had a car and it made life much easier, but if you didn't have a car you could still get around on foot/public transport and the owners are also one of the local taxis.

Les Diablerets has access to a very large ski area, as well as a toboggan run and other winter sports.  In the summer there is hiking and mountain biking.  The town itself was quiet while we were there, so it is more suited to couples, families or small groups not interested in late night parties!

Excellent accomodation near Les Diablerets

We didn't have a good experience in this place. We booked the top floor with two bedroom with another couple through BNB (bed & breakfast) web page. On it the host offers the room with a "breakfast buffet". When we get there, she told us that he didn't offer breakfast anymore. We complained about it, but finally we had to get our breakfast outside.
Be carefull also with the transferesces and the comissions.We paid them on our bank while doing a tranfer to book the place, but she also made us to pay another comission that we still don't understand. Not going to return to this place.
