Although we had set a time window for our expected arrival and were only a quarter of an hour early, we stood at our closed doors and had to wait another 3⁄4 hours after a call from the owner of the B&B. After a few brief indications, we were given a key in our hand and the room was only partially satisfied. Everything in the house as well as the room were undesirable. The room was not very clean, however.

Nice B&B, about 10 mins outside of Rapperswil. Proper parking facilities, clean rooms, very good and fast  WiFi,  nice breakfast and very sympat hosts.     Also good for evening walks and base for hikes, directly at the lake - what you need more

calm. relaxing. clean 

This bed and breakfast is in a very modern building.  
The room was comfortable and had a nice balcony overlooking the lake.  There have been various comments about the trains but these are electric and do not make as much noise as diesel trains like in the US.  The passenger trains do not run at night after midnight or so.  There is an occasional freight train.  The high quality insulated windows do an excellent job of blocking the sound.   Otherwise, it is absolutely quiet at night.

The room is compact and I would have liked more table/counter tops on which to spread things out.   More electrical outlets at table level would be great for all the devices we need to charge these days.  The bathroom worked fine.  There is very limited space for personal toiletries on the sink. 

There is no daily room cleaning but towels are provided if you ask for them.
The owner was very friendly and helpful.   

I knew this before I chose this location but the 'breakfast' only consists of fresh breads, some fruit, some cold cuts and a coffee machine.
My suggestion would be to have some hot food options. 

Important Note:  This appears to be one of the few locations in Switzerland with zero public transport.  If you are planning on relying on the great Swiss transit system to get around, this is NOT the place to stay.  I was fooled by google maps... there is a long-since-closed train station nearby.  It has been closed for 15 years I was told.
There is no bus nor train station nearby.  You will need to have or hire a car if you wish to use this as a base for sightseeing.

In general, this is a fine place for a short stay and if you are traveling light and with a car/bike.

We stayed here one night as we passed through the area towards Lake Lucerne. We had a little trouble finding it. The lady running the B&B was quite friendly for breakfast the next morning asked what we would like...naming off several items, that we had and thoroughly enjoyed. She asked when we would like it served to our room and was right on time. Excellent breakfast. The room was small but clean and comfortable especially since it has a balcony overlooking the lake. Other reviews mention several trains passing by in front - but they are far enough away and pretty quite - being electric. We would definitely recommend this location when staying in the area. We were travelling by car.

View of Lake Zurich from your room. Clean,larger room than some,and very accomodating.Friendly Staff.There is a railroad track just before the sea, but we never heard a train. We walked down the track to the Left to find a restruant  the staff mentioned. We found it and it was perfect, facing the sea also.Had a balcony or street level views. We also walked back through the small village to our B&B.

Spacious, clean room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Very friendly and friendly reception. Wi-Fi and TV with many channels, including Italian, perfectly functioning. Breakfast served on time in the room. The hostess kindly offered to accompany us to the center of Rapperswill with her car.

We were six people in three rooms.  Each room overlooked the lake and was a very good value.  We stayed for two days and enjoyed Zurich, which is very expensive.  The breakfast was included, but was very Spartan.

GOOD VALUE!

About 10 minutes (by car) outside the centre of Rapperswil, B&B. Very friendly reception, beautiful, clean, easily furnished room with a great view of the sea and the hills opposite.

Pleasant accommodation with a very friendly host

We took a nine-day trip to Switzerland with three different accommodations. The idea was to be in a place where you can stay for excursions to neighboring areas in las tres Suizas. We seemed to be looking for a place that wasn't very urban and this accommodation we liked because of its location by the lake. It's what we would call in Spain a rural hotel. Simple accommodation, clean with terrace and good views. Bathroom is acceptably spacious. Parking is free outside (very important in Switzerland) and breakfast is fine even though it's not a buffet or you have cooks (consisting of coffee, tea, fruit, bread, croissants, yogurt and cheese).

A good option away from major cities.

We're here for the second time now. You feel comfortable right away. The rooms are simply but very comfortable. Great is the large shower. There would be room for two people. From the balcony you can have a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains. The railway crossing nearby is hardly disturbing. Breakfast is very good. There is always plenty available, there is something for everyone. In short: it's really great here! Very recommended!
