Because of my job, I often stay in the tobacco house. The rooms and sanitation are very clean, the beds are comfortable, the living room with a small courtyard is completely comfortable. You have everything you need. For me it's always like coming home. Rosa is just a wonderful hostess. Thank you.

A hostel to feel comfortable in.

We were greeted very kindly. After the room tour, a glass of wine was given as a welcome drink. The room was small but very cozy. We liked it very well, we can only recommend the tobacco.

Cozy hostel

My sister and I stayed at this hostel a month ago while she was performing at the festival in town.  I was very pleasantly surprised with out stay here.  I was reluctant at first to stay at a hostel but this hostel was definitely more like a bed and breakfast.  We had our own room, very clean and shared a bathroom with a few other rooms.  Rosa, the owner of the hostel, left some extra toiletries in the common area in case anyone left anything.  She prepared breakfast for us every morning and it was great!  Espresso and everything!  I would definitely recommend this hostel to those visiting Rheinfelden.  It is close to the train station and close to the bridge to Germany.  Rosa helped make our stay great with her lovely hospitality.  We got to meet her son and fiancé as well, and they were just as welcoming as Rosa.  It was only my second hostel stay ever and I would definitely come back one day!  Thank you to Rosa for everything.

Rosa was Amazing

Great to hop off and park my bike at the end of a big day and feel welcome in Hotel Tabakhuesli. Rosa was really helpful and friendly. Good little kitchen to make something to eat and walk straight out the door for a stroll around the old city and easy access across the bridge to the Deutsche side. good rates too for the location. Great location and nice feel to it.

We spent a very pleasant night in Tabakhüsli on a longer velotour: the house is located in the center of the market street; our room was small, but it offered everything we needed. Rosa, the hostess, was very friendly, competent and helpful: she even showed us where we could swim from the Rhine Island and where it would be too dangerous. Tabakhüsli is not a hotel but a hostel modeled after the backpackers: so you can use the guest as a guest, you can hang clothes and anything in the courtyard, there is a tab room where you can meet other guests. For this there can be no : a backpacker's piece, not a hotel! n in a private room / toilet. But note that even in the bathroom, there was absolutely no problem, even for the bathroom and bathroom, where we could meet the needs of every single person.

Located in the centre, charming, well managed

We were on the road for a polter weekend and we were looking for a good place to stay if possible with four beds. Super solution in the tobacco shop, shower, bath nearby. Super service of pink, fine fine breakfast. We would come back next time.

A great place to stay

My colleague and I spent a night in Tabakhusli during our Velotour. The rooms are very beautiful and tidy, the service of Rosa is extremely friendly. A place to feel comfortable and almost right by the Rhine. We can only recommend the hostel!

Cozy hostel with charm

Sometimes you do not want to stay in a big place so you look for an alternative that is close by. In this case I stayed for a night in Rheinfelden, about 15 min. away from Basel where I had business to attend to the following day. I first tried a hotel situated right on the mighty river Rheine but the price seemed a bit steep. One of the employees pointed across the street to a very old house with the name "Tabakhuesli" (tobacco house).  The friendly owner of this cute and totally renovated house from the "middle ages" bid a very nice welcome and let me to a few rooms she was renting for the night. The price seemed right and the location of the house - right at the entrance of the pedestrian area - was ideal. Bathroom and toilet are shared by a 2 more rooms on the floor but I was alone so that was very private. In the morning Rosa served breakfast on the ground floor and soon the little place was full of locals having coffee and something small while chatting away. A nice experience!
