We are a family of three (child is 5 years old).  We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Arm Ring Hotel.  It is central to the old city of St Gallen.  Everything is a small walk away or the public transport is just at the end of the street. The hotel is very clean and styled to respect its history.  The room is not large but it suited our needs.  The bed is very big and the room bright.  We took the breakfast option and it’s exactly what we wanted.  Worth the few francs we spent. The owner of the hotel was very helpful and spoke a bit of English which helped me.  We stayed for three nights and then on the way home from travelling abroad we decided to stay one extra night and still had the same homely experience as our first three nights. We had a car with us and paid for the parking option.  Happy we did.   Would recommend staying here.

Family of three

What a gem!  The hotel has been owned by the same family for many decades, and you can see the care and concern that goes into the experience.  They provide wonderful local insights, as well as an exceptional breakfast set in an oppulent room filled with chandeliers and other treasures.  They now have both WiFi and an option to pay with credit cards.  The location is within walking distance of the town and the rail station. My daughters and I left with hugs and promises to visit again!

A quaint and cozy stay...

I spent one night there in St. gallen. They have a very good and convince location and very friendly receptionist who could be owner(?).! I am from one of Asia country so this Hotel gave me very special and unique experience. This hotel was inspiring me a kind of old Western ages. Especially all the hotel decoration was just beautiful and unique. Even they have a Free wifi as well.! If I have a chance to visit St,gallen, absolutely visit there again!

Beautiful Hotel !!

I had a pleasant month staying here whilst on business last November.  A family run hotel, Raffael and his mum made me feel very welcome. Every morning (except Sunday as it was closed) breakfast would be laid out in the restaurant, a selection of breads, croissants, jams, cheeses and meats.  I'm quite a fussy eater being a vegetarian, however, Raffael always made sure that I had enough to eat.
The hotel decor was very unique and dining in the restaurant was a great experience in itself, surrounded by antique items collected over the years.  The rooms were on the small side but were comfortable and clean, with fresh towels on a daily basis. 
The family were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Friendly and unique!

I had one short night in Saint-Gallen and wanted a central hotel. The reviews mentioned a cute and unique place and I thought I'd give it a try. 
I arrived late around 8:30pm and the hotel checked on my arrival time by SMS while I was still on the train. I was greeted by a very friendly person in French (my language), a big smile and a glass of bio pear juice. 
The hotel is indeed cute and adorable, albeit a bit kitsch. 
My room number 5 is small but enough for a night, clean and practical. 

Adorable and friendly hotel

I have been going to this little hotel for 15 years! It is now with the third generation and still as special as the first time we stepped into this hotel. Breakfast served, rooms all in art deco style mixed with a bit of french character, absolute love the top and everything is for sale ... the dining room is filled with chandeliers. The staircase is painted by professionals and I really think a move should be made here. Service is friendly, down to earth and good. In city centre, super convenient and a delight. It is one of the few hotels where I get excited to go,just can't wait to experience the opulence, the art ... just so St Gallen. Art and culture.
