We stayed for one night with our two kids and it was amazing. They helped us with everything. Thank you so much for the amability and help. Super comfortable, cosy and warm hotel. Super location and breakfast! Muchas gracias 

Best hotel

The owners were really friendly. It was a hotel - but felt like we stayed in a home. It was clean and quiet. Very close to the main sights.. I highly recommend this place. We stayed for 4 nights. The bus stop is located right in front. Very easy to get to the train station.

Great service

The hotel is good but the owner is what makes the difference. He really goes out of his way to ensure everything's there to meet your needs.
The location is convenient between university and downtown/train station.
I would come again!

Warm reception, good location

Very comfortable family-owned hotel.  Rooms are neat and clean, bathroom spotlessly and modern.  My room, on the back of the hotel, was very quiet.  The owner, Christian, is very nice and available, always eager to give suggestions about places to visit.  We felt like we were visiting friends instead of staying at a hotel.  
The only point that can be improved would be to add shades to the windows, as otherwise you risk being woken up by the light of dawn.  (Christian was very kind to set up pillows against a window, which improved a bit the darkening.)

Nice family-owned hotel

The hotel has been recently renovated. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location for visiting the town, extra perk with free bus pass during our stay. Delicious breakfast, friendly staff and the manager will go to the end of the world to help you. The only downside is the noise on Jacobstrasse. We felt like we were visiting friends.

Very friendly

After a very long drive I just needed somewhere to sleep for the night. I simply pulled in and asked for a room. with parking it was 176 Swiss francs.  A single en suite room, nothing special, quite basic. Breakfast was the usual continental style, cold meats, preserves but with the ability to boil ones own egg!

Very Expensive

The room was very comfortable and the staff and owner extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is a relatively short walk from the railway station-at Marktplatz but the bus passes very frequently and the hotel provides public transport passes for the whole region. A decent breakfast is included and the laundry service is rapid.

Hotel is very modern with all the latest fittings and ameneties,neat and clean.Service was superb.

Home away from Home

For the past 6 month I stayed frequently in St. Gallen. Of the 4 reasonably priced hotels, the Hotel Gallo was one.

Very nicely styled, close to the OLMA (Fair) and University, 15 min walk from the main station, or a few stops by bus (wich stops 100m before or after the hotel).
Excellent rooms, however the breakfast did not match other similar properties, standard selection. Make sure you ask for a room to the back, the ones in the front are facing a main road. It's btw opposite the casino, thats why I clicked yes for that one. and wifi was not of good quality.
