Despite it´s a cheap stay, well worth the money if someone wants to stay in the heart of the city. The room was nice and warm, and despite the shared shower and bathroom i had my own basin in the room so i could shave, brush my teeth etc. without leaving the room. Which was cleaned regulalry, also a plus point. The staff was nice and friendly.

Amazing location, cozy stay

Super friendly reception in the bar, very nice team. The location is top, middle and everything is just a few steps away. The rooms are very simple but clean. The dining room shower/toilet only shares 3 rooms, which is fine if you don't have very high demands.

Super price-performance ratio

The chef himself (Hampi) runs the sports bar from Monday to Thursday. Excellent selection of chilled beers, forty different. No restaurant, but in the immediate vicinity there are many options, from Asian to McDo to classic Central European cuisine.

Always a joy

The manager is very willing. The boss speaks French which is rare in this area. On a motorbike, he understood my stress of leaving my machine outside and kindly offered me a place in his private garden two steps away.

That's really nice.

The hotel has a bar, and in the summer, guests are outside until 3 or 4 a.m., talking out loud or arguing. They have to take earplugs or else the room is simple, but clean and centrally located. Breakfast was delicious, service is friendly.

Little sleep

The building is very old and the steps are steep. It is not a modern hotel, but the basics are there and it is very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast room doubles as a bar. Most of the people there are multi lingual and it is a great place to meet new people. You can't find this price any where else in the old center. So stop complaining if it isn't the Hilton.

Good value, great location,

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Weisses Kreuz in St Gallen. My husband attended a medical congress at the Olma Messen.  It was in close proximity to this hotel - he was able to walk to the venue.  The room was spotless and very comfortable. We had our own shower but shared a toilet with 2 other rooms, which was not a problem. The hotel is in an excellent location, right on the doorstep to the Old city.  The breakfast was very good and the owner and his staff could not have been more accommodating.  The floors were creaky, but this is an old building, so can be expected.  The accommodation was excellent value for money.

A very pleasant stay

Excellent all round from staff, meals and rooms. Rooms large and well equipped overlooked gardens at rear of hotel. Meals , breakfast good with cereals and yoghurts, cheese and colds meats as well as some cooked food plus coffees, teas and fruit juices.
Evening meal choice of 3 mains which you choose in the morning and took card 1,2 or 3 what you wanted, starters and sweets local but very good, drinks reasonable and staff friendly and attentive. WI Fi free and available throughout the hotel well done.
Sauna in the basement, much enjoyed and sure I benefitted. Went another day to find all men naked put this shy Englishman was put off.

Coach Holiday stay

Very centrally located. Very nice service. Good breakfast. Clean. A modest two-star hotel with charm. Not for people with high demands, because the hotel is modest and friendly, easy. Ideal for one or two nights. We were three at the time of the Olma fair. It can be quite noisy in the evening.

Central, friendly accommodation.

This hotel is barely a 1 star. Go there if you want to save money and don't mind a very old flop house cheaply & barely renovated, with creaking floors, paper thin walls, threadbare sheets with holes and thick dust everywhere. The cherry on top was a large black cockroach that appeared on the pillow right beside my head.
