Just loved this place, great service, amazing breakfast from Lisa (Thank you !!) 
Rooms are cosy with great beds and nice down duvets, also loved the heated outdoor spa. Had originally booked 1 night but ended up with 4 as we loved it so much . Our great host made our stay the perfect stay from check in to check out !!!!

Great little spot in Swiss alps when skiing in Laax/Vals/Vella area

We loved this place.  The staff was sweet, the lodging cozy and funky and the food divine. We arrived in the afternoon and Arno, the chef, showed us to our room.  I think we got the smallest room (#1), which I wouldn't have picked, but it turned out ok. When you want to hang out there is a community room where you can make your own tea or coffee and have a bite to eat or sit and read or whatever.  We didn't spend much time inside though.   Days were short so we got up and out pretty quickly.  Arno's dinner was spectacular.  The first course is an appetizer buffet which you get for yourself from the cellar (watch your head).  The choices are interesting and super tasty. Main courses were venison one night, veal another and I can't remember what the 3rd night.  Then back to the cellar for a dessert buffet.  All in all way too much delectable food.  The dining room was warm and cozy and beautifully decorated to feel like home (if you lived in the Alps).  For breakfast, again buffet, there were at least 4 cheeses and 4 breads (don't miss the pear bread), fruits, yoghurt and hams and sausages, eggs and more.  Almost all the food in this place is VERY locally sourced and super tasty.  The lady most mornings, Lisa, lives right there in Surcasti and really makes you feel like you are in her dining room as her guest. Also, staying here entitles you to use the  mineral baths and spa at Hotel Rovanada in Vals which was a lovely treat as well. We loved our stay in this place and will do our best to come when it isn't snowing so we can hike between villages. Nice, nice people.  Thank you so much!

The 4th Switzerland - your home away from home

Very sweet little place in a gorgeous location nearby vals therms and other exploring. Food and staff very helpful.

I would return with great pleasure maybe in winter to see the different scenery once covered in snow.

Lovely place

We had a really nice stay here in January 2015. The room is small but clean with a comfortable bed. There are games, tea and coffee in the living room. On weekends you can use the Hot pot outside. The restaurant is very special with the wine cellar. And they served typical local food which was so good! There was no snow when we were there so we took a nice walk up the hill where we saw some chamoises.
We also went to the famous thermal baths in Vals which was such a great experience.
We might very well be back some day.

absolute romantic getaway

We spent one night at Casa da Luzi and had a lovely stay. The outdoor hot tub was a nice treat after a day of skiing. The dinner was very good, and the breakfast as well, served in a lovely old room by nice people. We would come again!
