We arrived at Kaohsiung airport and soon after picked up our rent a car and make our way to ‘My Ocean Villa’. It took about 2 hours to get there and thank you for Gps. Upon arrival a guy went thru our check in process, like the breakfast hour from 9-11am, where we can park our car(right in front of our villa), the items in the minibar are free(no refill) etc.

The moment you step in the villa, you’ll see the wardrobe and the living room is on your right with sofa, table, TV and to your left you’ll see the king size bed, 2 bedside table, dressing table and another door that leads to the private pool and a spacious outdoor area.

There’s table and benches that could sit 4-5 people, 2 sun beds and if you want water in your pool you have to pay TWD500. There outdoor area has a beautiful view of the ocean, only if you step out from your villa.

To get around the area you will need a car, it so much easier. Perhaps a night out at Kenting street, Hengchun area or the Aquarium...no car no go~

Breakfast was ok, nothing much. Just a sandwich, coffee, 2 slices of apple and a small cup of salad with 3 tiny prawns. Also they don't serve lunch or dinner, and that I tell you... is a minus point.  We had our lunch and dinner mostly in Hengchun and Kenting area.  On our 1st night there were other guests but on our last 2 nights I think we were the only ones staying there. 

You can also do snorkelling and diving but not at the hotel, it's about 8mins drive and we paid TWD2500 for 1 dive 1 person. All is provided.

Overall our stay was ok, no WOW factor to mention about the Villa. Except the Ocean View, that is only if you step out...



Birthday Getaway

Accompanied with wonderful afternoon-tea set by the friendly villa staffs, you certainly enjoy more of the beautiful sunset on the restaurant balcony or your own villa backyard. The villa is well equipped of comfort bedding, cozy sofa. Full loading of snacks and instant noodles. Even though the location is a bit distinct to the busy Kenting city center, with a car you will enjoy more of the tranquil environment.

My Ocean Villa is a great place to stay, regardless if you are going as a couple or with the familiy. It offers rooms for 2 ~ 4 persons and more beds can be added if desired. I would say a max of 6 person for a 4 roomer is ideal.

We enjoyed the peace and tranquility and not forgetting the unobstructed magnificent seaview right in front of our room. Each room has a unique decor theme and each has a small swimming pool. Although there are some creepy crawleys in the rooms given the nature around the villa, that did not really bother us. Afternoon tea and breakfast are included with the stay.

The Villa is located on a 98 meter hill, it not easily located and they cannot be found on our GPS and Google Map, do look out for sign at the foot of the hill and it will direct you to the Villa. Overall the place is a perfect place for a quick getaway from the bustling city life. My Ocean Villa is highly recommended if you enjoy peace and nature.

Great stay with magnificent seaview

I have stayed in this villa from 23rd June to 28th June 2014 and I am planning to go there again in next year! 

Everybody told me that Kenting is a place that I should stay at most for 2 to 3 nights only but after my trip I can swear that they are all wrong as they failed to dig out the secret treasure of this place and also they don't know how to plan their trip!

Yes Kenting is a place with no shopping malls, no big restaurants and outlets but if you wants to relax yourselves and follow the pace of local people and try their local food then you will win. 

Take my advice and plan for a 5 night stay in this villa if you are a lazy guy like me. Or you can stay 2 nights in other hotel that are closer to the town and then 3 nights in this villa. Next you must find some local touring agent that can take you out for sight seeing, outdoor sports and most important of all, try out the local food and fruits of Taiwan food at hawkers, stalls and local shops. This is important as public transportation is not so advanced in this part of Taiwan so you must be well prepared for this, Ask them for the round trip from airport to hotel and then ask them to plan a two day guided trip for you based on your favorites. After finishing this you are almost there to enjoy!!!!! 

The water pressure inside the bath room and outside the spa pool is extremely strong and you can have a free message!!! If you are still wants to you can ask the local tour guide to take you to the nearby old town to have a body or foot message and for a 90 minutes full body message it is less than US$45.

For the rest of the time you must stay in this villa and enjoy the most from their offered facilities! Tell you the truth doing nothing but swimming, taking sun bath, eating local fruits and snack brought from hawkers, viewing the sea from the 98 meters cliff. Viewing sun rise and sunset from the 2nd floor of the room and counting the numbers of stars and comets from your villa will keep you busy throughout the day!

PS you can also plan to visit the local National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium and sleep beside tanks and say good night to fish at only NT$2180 per person!
