The quality of the room and the hotel is like a 5* hotel. The hotel and the room is super clean and well designed. High class materials are used. Hidden special qualities, like RO filtered water tap in the room. We got excellent yummy vegan breakfast right to our room. We could choose from different meal options. Very good location near to the city center but still in a quiet street. The owner is very friendly and helpful, he speaks very good English. Next time we are in Hualien, we will definitely stay here again

Excellent stay in Hualien

We stayed at City Home B&B for 2 nights and selected this as a base so we could explore the Taroko gorge (would highly recommend a tour via William at Eye Travel Taiwan). We arrived by Taxi and struggled to see the entrance at first but local people helped point us in the right direction (on the corner you will see City cars and it is 3 doors up on right hand side). 
We were met by the friendliest and most enthusiastic staff who spoke perfect english. They made us feel very welcome and shared with us a high number of recommendations on food choices and how/where to find them in Hualien. They also gave us a choice of floors for our room. 
The room was great. It was very spacious and clean and had all the amenities we needed for a good night sleep after our busy excursion. They provide tea and toiletries in each room and there was nothing we needed for. The location was perfect to explore Hualien and when we first arrived we went for a long walk to explore the area. Hualien really does come to life at night and we really enjoyed just walking around and taking in the culture. If you like a cocktail or 2, there is a really great cocktail bar just across the street called The Ginsman. They dont have a menu and will make you what you want at around £10 per cocktail. It is a great little place to relax after a busy day. 
The hotel take cash only and no credit cars but they made us aware in advance so no problems. When we checked out, we were once again met by a fantastic lady who was really helpful, helped us with all of our bags, to get a taxi and to wave us goodbye. She also spoke perfect english. 
This is a great little place, it is affordable and a good base for a budget trip. The staff made this place and we are grateful for their hospitality.

Excellent Budget Hotel with Fantastic Friendly Staff

It was located 20-25 minute walk from the main station. It's very close lots of types of restaurants. I was given a map with them all on which was useful. They also suggested some tours as well. Room was big with a living area and a separate bathroom. Please be aware that there is no lift. Room was pretty quiet, some scuffs and ripped wallpaper and there was a leak in the bathroom. Apart from that it was an ok stay. 

Clean big room

City center location, many food outlets and shops within walking distance.
Room is extremely clean and good amenities.The entrance to the room is from the side of the building and is secured with electronic lock.
 Only down-side is there's no elevator to the room.

Central location, very clean room

Hosts are very nice and will help you to find the best places where to eat in Hualien (they speak good English).
Our room was very clean and had everything we need. You can also park your car down the hotel. Great location, close to the city center.

Good hotel and great location

4 of us were allocated to a room on the 2nd floor. The room was spacious, clean, well stocked with needed amenities. We loved the friendly counter staff who were ready to help us out, with tips, directions, and even assisted us with figuring our travel plans. We will definitely consider staying again if we return to Hualien. Thank you!
