This is undoubtedly an easy 6 star rating! The family-run facility is relatively new with quality floor tiles and vanity countertops (in Singapore these types are so expensive we reserve them for our kitchen countertops). The Japanese-korean type showers are beyond amazing with like 4 different jets to select, and the water pressure can be aptly described with “intense.” I spoke to the owners and learned that they had built the homestay-hostel from the bottom up and with the comfort of guests in mind, intentionally designed the rooms with double volume ceilings. 

The building is plus point but what is even better is that the hosts epitomise service excellence and warm hospitality. They provide free WIFI and unlimited servings of complimentary bottled water and tea. The breakfast venues were decent (coupons were provided for guests to make their own choices) and the advice provided for eating and leisure were excellent. If you are unsure of how to spend your time, just ask them! They will be more than happy to help out!

For example, we wanted to visit Taroko Gorge but were unsure of how to go about doing so. The recommendations were clear and in the end they squeezed us onto a tour that was supposed to be fully booked (this happened just the day before). We spent about a quarter or a third of the amount it would cost to hire a driver to bring us there. We were most contented, tired but happy tourists by the end of the tour!

As it was a public holiday weekend, we had to stand throughout a 3.5h train journey to Hualien and we dreaded the return journey as all seats back to Taipei were also sold out. We are ever so grateful when the owner sought out tickets from her travel agent contacts and even took a 6km motorbike ride in the rain and at night to ensure that we did not have to stand for another 3.5h. She even refused to accept a tip for all her efforts!

I unreservedly recommended Mozhu B&B to anyone visiting Hualien; and for my friends who intend to visit Taiwan, my wife and I would be sure to recommend that they be sure to spend a night or two in Hualien with these most wonderful hosts!

Hosts are BEYOND AMAZING!

I booked this place on the spur of the moment because it was affordable and near a place where I had a meeting. It was wonderful. The rooms are clean and very nice. The price was good, and the hosts were wonderful. I had some problems related to the rest of my trip that I needed help with, and they happily solved everything quickly and competently.

Good Location, Good Value, EXCELLENT Hosts

Decent location that is near the train station with parking space for rented car.

Extremely friendly hosts who made us feel at home.
They helped us with our trip planning and recommended locations that is worth or not worth going.
The lady boss even helped my mom buy motion sickness pills (and gave to us FOC) from the pharmacy when she knew that she was prone to motion sickness. This shows the level of care that they put in for their guests.

Value for money at a decent location with GREAT hosts

I have been to Hualien many times. In the case of the B&B is most happy. The owner of the warm reception made ​​me realize the real meaning of living in B&B. The owner is not only helped me plan itineraries but also its positive attitude to life has touched me. Let me have a new understanding for travel.

I have stayed In this B&B for one night. It has clean and elegant environment. The holder would take the initiative to help you solve the problem that made me feel warm and hospitable. The location is very close from the B&B to the train station within walking distance. It's also many shops near surrounding that is very convenient. Highly recommended people want to travel in Hualien!
