It took a while to find this hotel as it is not exactly in the centre and once I got into the room, I didn't feel that it was welcoming as it was 'old style' and in need of an update. The room was a reasonable size but the beds were very uncomfortable and the room was hot and stuffy despite the air conditioning - couldn't have the window open as there was a large tree outside the room with chirping birds, so if you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the field! The bathroom was tired and the 
wi-fi very iffy. Didn't stay for breakfast as I wanted to get out.

There must be better!

There isn't much that's bad about this hotel, but neither is there anything particularly special. I stayed here with a friend recently and it was quite nice The rooms were clean and pretty standard. There was a TV with lots of channels, including movies in English, an electric kettle, some complimentary tea bags and water, hangers, extra blankets, and free toiletries like you would see elsewhere. Though the bed might be a bit hard, I got a really good night's sleep here. The water pressure for the shower is great, but it takes a long time for it to heat up, at least 15 minutes. The towels are horrible as they don't dry your skin at all. It's best to either bring a towel or air-dry yourself in the room. 

The location is okay; not much immediately around the hotel, but not too long of a walk to the old downtown area and a 7-11. On the plus side, it's fairly quiet considering it's along a major road. Many locals know where the hotel is in case you get lost. I showed them the picture of the entrance and they recognized it. As long as you can find Guanqian Road (and go north, *not* south), you'll get there easily. 

The free breakfast is not that great (unless you like Chinese breakfasts). It's a buffet style of toast, both plain and savory porridge, stir-fried shredded carrot and egg (my personal favorite), and pickled vegetables. Breakfast begins at 7:30 am. I'm not sure when it ends, but it seems they stop pretty early. Down the road there are a couple restaurants selling noodle soups and curry rice. The owner is pretty friendly and speaks a little bit of English, but make sure to use simple words. 

Understand the hotel's cancellation policy; you can't refund a paid booking within a week of expected arrival, but you can change the date within one month from the date of the original booking. Not too many cheap, good quality hotels in Jincheng, so this one is a safe choice.

Comfortable but nothing special

The hotel is a little out of the way in Jincheng Village, away from the centre and up a fairly steep hill if you have luggage. Room was hot, bathroom unusable and beds were basically wood. Try to stay somewhere else.

Incredibly basic

paid S$60 for one night stay, basic accommodation come with TV, free wifi and simple breakfast, etc. One plus point is they are flexible to allow early check-in at no extra cost; I was checked in at 11.00 am.     Not far from the city, within walking distance.  This is an Overseas Chinese Association but rent out rooms to upkeep the Association.

simple but good

Value for money at S$55 to S$65 per night. Near to main facilities, e.g. bus interchange, shops for souvenirs, dining, etc. Also has free wifi. Reception is very friendly. Also within walking to bus stop for tourist who are on shoestring budget.
