Last night in Taiwan and last night in another hotel of Kindness chain.
I have found this hotel less good than the others.
Apart from the location not in a very nice area, the breakfast and the light dinner was less good than the other hotels of the chain.
Anyway, my good was fine and without problems.

Not far from the train station

Super hotel very well located close to public transport (train, city bus and long distance). The staff comes in four to serve you, smiling, friendly, we kept our luggage for several days.

It's a great hotel.

Had a great 6 nights rest at Kindness Hotel Xiongzhong. Its location, the friendly and efficient staff, the breakfast, the night stack of tauhua, the laundry service (free! with washing machine & dryer) impressed us the most! At nights when it rained, we could not go out to look for vegetarian meals, we enjoyed our hot porridge in the hotel. It was a lovely stay, memory starts to fade when we come back home but the stay there still vivid. Room was not big but enough for 3 of us. It was clean and comfortable. Wifi was fast. Location was great, we walked to either Kaoshuing MRT or Formosa Boulevarde MRT. After checkout, they store our luggages for us so we could go out for meals.Thank you to all of you making our stay from 4/12 to 10/12/19 so memorable:)!

Highlights of Our Kaoshuing Trip Was The Lovely Kindness Hotel Xiongzhong!

We were coming into Kaoshiung late one night from the East Coast of Taiwan and wanted just a low budge hotel near the train station for a quick sleep over. We got more than we expected. First of all, the staff was extraordinarily helpful and friendly. The offered us a free "Midnight Snack" (which ended at 10:30 p.m.) that was essentially a full meal. We went to our room which was basic, but very clean and well organized. We had a good night's rest, woke up in the morning and had a free breakfast. We checked out, but stored our bags and came back in the afternoon and picked them up and went on our way. It was very convenient because the Kindness Hotel s was right across from the Kaoshiung train station, so we could take the MRT around Kaoshiung for a quick visit, then back to the Kindness hotel, pick up our stuff and back on the train again. 

Great low budget hotel.

If you are purely judging the hotel by its floor area, do note that the mini corridor when you enter to the bedroom is likely included in the floor area. One suspects the hotel is a converted apartment building. The twin room we stayed in was rather tiny, with two small single beds, a bedside table (if you can call it that), a dressing table combined with the fridge cabinet. There is only one service lift so expect a jam during peak hours. Fast food restaurants and a convenience store is nearby. For those using Google maps, take note that due to nearby construction, the hotel is no longer 1 min walk from Kaohsiung station; you need to circumvent the construction site, so a 7 min walk is more accurate.

The bathroom was a bummer, with a flimsy shower curtain separating the shower from the rest of the toilet. The curtain does not do anything to prevent water from splashing out onto the floor, so a floor towel and the bathroom slippers are a must, since the floor is slippery. The shower head holder is curiously located at mid-thigh area, so unless you are holding it while showering, it is totally useless, and you have to make use of the rain shower or the funny array of 6 shower sprays located at various heights.

On the bright side, the free breakfast is decent; there is also supper from 8 - 10.30pm though we didn't partake in it. Staff are extremely polite and cheerful.

Quaint but ageing hotel

Not only the morning breakfast, Kindness Hotel also provides with free buffet dinner. This is not common with most of the hotels. Although choice of food is limited, the items are sufficient and the quality is surprisingly good. 
I was further surprise to find that laundry is also free of charge for its guest. 4 washing machines are opened 24 hours each day. Washing powder is readily available at all time.

Stayed for 4D3N. Amazing breakfast selection from vegetarian to taiwanese breakfast! Loving their inclusive complementary dinner! Must try their Tauhuey! For accommodation, everything you ever need is there.

Remarkable hotel

It is right beside a school. My room faced the mountain this time. The place is near the Kaoshiung Station MRT. Walking distance to the night market.
The staffs are friendly and cheerful.
What amaze me is the availability of food and snacks round the cloud even though there are so many restaurants around.
The shower enclosure is special and there are specially selected shampoo and bath lotion for both man and woman. Thank you very much.

Place so cosy and convenient

The rooms are simple but very clean and functional. The staff is very friendly and there is always the possibility to drink and eat something. A few steps away there is a night market for shopping and eating. We also greatly appreciated the free availability of bicycles so that we could visit the beautiful city cycling on the many cyclists. If we return to Kaohsiung we will definitely return to that hotel too!

European travellers who do not speak Mandarin

This hotel was excellent and ideally located. It was very clean! There was a very convenient free laundry service, good Wi-Fi, the shower was great. The only bemool was one of the receptionists who seemed to constantly make fun of us in our faces at the Mandarin reception!
