Provence Rose Lodge in Ching Jing

Ren-ai

We were attracted to the rustic design and booked the 2-storey unit. The bathroom towel holder is broken. The hair dryer is not working. At night there is insects flying around our ears so we couldn’t sleep well.  The pillows are yellow and worn out. 

Breakfast has limited items. 

We paid USD260 for the accommodation. Not worth the price. 

Spacious but run-down

This hotel is conveniently located along the road with a bus stop just outside next to a primary school.

Room was sufficiently comfortable. Bathtub is deep but treacherous to get down without support on the wall.

The restaurant is probably the best place in the hotel with excellent ambiance and good food at reasonable price.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Easy to get to Cingjing Farm with bus stop just outside. Walking distance to Small Swiss Garden and Visitor Centre

Nice Lodge in CingJing

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and 1 year old son. Loved the stay here. The place is so beautiful and serene. People here are very nice and helpful. The support desk helped in setting up the Qinjing farm tour and also Taichung trip back. Though their English is not fluent, but 100% marks for the effort to converse in English and help. It's a must visit place if you want to break away from all the hustle bustle of city life.

Look for mountain view room which has the best view from balcony.
There are many must visit places around like Qinjing farm where you can spend some time with sheep and horse. It also has some walkways which you can do if you are into trekking. There are 7/11 shops and family marts around which is convenient. There are many western and Asian restaurants nearby. But I recommend the food at provence rose. They have a limited menu but the ones we tried were also delicious and not pricy at all. Less items in menu suggests that they are good at what they make. Highly recommended. Try the set menu which comes with soup, salad, dessert and main course. We paid 350 twd, which would have costed 600 twd outside. Creme brulle is a must try. 

Overall, we loved staying here. And especially liked the warm reception and helpful staff. This is hidden gem, and would definelty return. Special Thnaks to Roger and team.

We stayed at the Provence Rose from 20-22 Nov 2018. Upon arrival, we decided to upgrade our room to one with a view,and we were not disappointed. The room we were given faced the mountains and the sun rose exactly right in front of our balcony. It was such a magnificent sight to behold - we totally agreed that the upgrade was well worth it! The scenery changed so much in a day; clear blue sky, misty afternoon, dusky evening... we fell in love with the mountains! Ah Liang, one of the young staff there, was very helpful in assisting us with the room upgrade, and eagerly provided us information with the surroundings. He was also very honest in telling us that we'd left a G-shock watch behind in the first room we were given!

We had a charming time here, especially with the shared plunge pool between our room and that of our friends. Friendly staff and good service! We liked the decor in our room and the location of the Lodge as well.

The overall decor and feel of the place is pretty rustic, with some french style charm. The check in was done with not much fuss and straightforward. We were early and left our luggage at the counter. Walking to the nearest Starbucks and eateries is quite easy, about 10 minutes. So location wise it is really quite good.

The room we got is at a separate villa, ground floor room 53. The whole of level 1 is just us, and this villa is kind of a self sufficient building. Just outside our room is a huge dining area, kitchen and living room with a projector and even fire place. So if there is no one using the area, it feels like we booked a large suite.

The bedroom is quite clean and of decent size. As there are vegetations around the house, do expect insects and what not. The toilet can be improved though as the shower head is pointing at the WC and when you shower, everywhere gets wet.

Breakfast is decent with chinese style porridge or the usual ham and eggs etc. Service wise, I can't find fault at all. Dinner, my wife had the aglio olio which can be rather spicy but it is well flavoured. I had the lamb shank and I enjoyed it very much as well.

If you need to go to the usual Farm, it is walkable or via a bus. If you want to head to He Huan Mountain, I suggest that you book a day trip through KLook or KKDay for about SGD20 per pax. They pick you right at the the bnb, so it is really easy.

Manage your expectations and you will find the stay here pleasant.

Rustic with its charm.

Its the second time we stayed at this B&B, and me and my girlfriend was looking forward to it. We was coming from Hualien through the Taroko over the mountain, which was little adventurous as there was fog and later snow we had to drive trough, and my girlfriend got carsick, but finally we made it to Qingjing.
The B&B still look stunning and for me it feels like home [Switzerland],  the building is  combination of wood and rocks and it have even chimneys.  We got a room in the top-floor with mountain view and we could see the snow-capped mountains. The room had a big bathroom with a big bathtub to jump in. 
What is missing this time was the hospitality the eye for details and specially missing management. 
As I mention my girlfriend was sick when we arrived, but nobody asked if we needed some medicine. The room was still dusty, maybe because nobody has been there for a week or so. The coffee cup was not properly cleaned and beside the balcony in the flower pots there was a lot of cigarettes stubs [see picture]. We wanted to talk to the manager, but it was told that he left already at Lunch time and he never contacted us. he was also not there in the morning when we had breakfast and after left.
In the evening we has dinner in the downstairs restaurant, which was ok.
The next morning we went at 8:30 for breakfast which was open till 9 am. The setup of the buffet looked loveless prepared, and its seems they do not provide service, some staff was staying in the corner, doing nothing. They left all the empty plates of all the guest on the table, just at 9:15 someone pull a trolley inside and started to clean up the empty tables.  
We went back to the room and enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony for some time before we left, which was the best part of the stay.
Do we come back? I believe next time we will try out an other place further up the road, there are still nice places with the same view, to the same prices, but maybe a higher service standard.

Great Ware, Software needs some updating

Stayed only one night in this hotel.  It has a very nice European romantic decor.  Very clean and well-maintained.   Breakfast is served in a restaurant with great views of the surrounding hills.  We loved the tiny egg tarts.  Hotel is conveniently located with the shopping area about 15 mins uphill.  Nearer, and on the downhill side, there is a simple Chinese restaurant that serves good food.  There is also a 7-11 near it.
