Stay here at the girls only dormitory, my first bunk experience! The bed was clean, the room and the bathroom is clean.still hear a few noise during the night but that's okay.the curtain on each bed is super good, make my bed super dark. Thank You! 

Clean room & Friendly staff

Stayed at Journey Hostel for one night before leaving to return to Taipei. 

Overall, it's a nice hostel. Clean, nice common area and good size kitchen for guests (with storage). 

Location is 5 minute walk to the train station but to the other sites in Tainan, location isn't great, especially w/o motorbike. Walking to anywhere (even the food the hostel recommended) was 15-20 minutes. Buses are available but they don't run regularly and there is no metro. So, depending what you want to see/do in Tainan, this location might not work out. But, bikes are available for guests to use if they wish.

The female dorm is very tight, especially when there are more than two people (in the four-bed). Not much luggage storage and you are all on top of one another. But there is a little makeup table in the room that is very nice.

AC is weak so it needs to run for awhile in the rooms, and you don't feel it much in the beds. So rooms can warm up quickly. There is also a lot of street noise (minus some overnight hours) so bring earplugs. Bathroom has nice showers and features.

Hostel staff speaks English well and are very nice but were not very helpful in restaurant recommendations (apparently nothing is close to the hostel for food options). I did not use the Wifi but it's available.

For one night, this was a solid fine, but if you're tight on time in Tainan and don't have a motorbike, I would recommend something more centrally located.

Nice hostel close to train station but not the sights

Journey hostel is one of the hostels with excellent service facilities located at a crossroads surrounded by restaurants, beverage kiosks, food stalls, bakeries, gacha shops that serve buyers for almost 24 hours. if you want a relatively soundproof room, please choose a room that doesn't have a window to the street. The kichen and lounge are excellent while the hostel is near to railway and Cheng Kung university.

A cozy place to rest among the crowd

Very noisy and tedious to leave the shoes at the reception. Room is clean. Extremely noisy day and night. They even provide you with the ear plug but it doesn;t really help me. Location is good. near to train station. The noisy can be reduced if the owner install the double layer glass windows.

A quaint little place close to the station with a nice atmosphere and a traditional style decor with wooden panels. This was the nicest place we stayed during travels around Taiwan and we would highly recommend. Having to wear slippers and leave our shoes at reception made it homely and exceptionally clean, if only the slippers would fit big feet.

Lovely hostel

Was made to feel unwelcome by rude staff and didn’t enjoy my time on the premises. I think these people should learn how to treat a customer right and be helpful. I wouldn’t recommend staying here at all.

Generally unhelpful

Proprietors given a lot of thought towards the design of the hostel. Comfortable and spacious. There is a nice lounge and kitchen together, friendly counter service too. Location is within easy distance from the train. You would have to do your laundry outside the hostel but it is reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
