After visiting the various sites in Beitou, we then was looking for a hotel where we can enjoy a private room for a soak in a hot bath tub but at a cheap price. We are backpackers but we don't want to go public bath because we want some private time. We were patiently walking and looking for a hotel that fits our budget when we stumble on Kyoto Spring Resort just few steps away from the temple nearby. When we enter we were immediately greeted with a smile by the staff, they show us their brochure of room. We then choose a private room for 2 at NT$580 for one hour use. The room is big enough for 2 people, it has television, good size mirror, air condition and 2 complimentary bottled water. We instructed the reception to call our room 15 minutes before one hour, which they did. For me, it was a good deal, the room may not be luxurious but it worth the price you pay for. The staff were friendly and smiling. It was a very good visit, we get what we wanted to relax on a private room by soaking in a hot bath tub. It is Worth a Try!

Worth a Try

The staff are friendly. The room is mostly clean except a curly hair found on the side of the bedsheet... Other than that the experience is very good. And the room does have Japanese feel. The toilet is clean and the hot spring bath tub is the most enjoyable. At this price level, the service and experience is good value for money. 

Cozy. Suitable for people who want to enjoy private hot spring bath 

Kyoto Spring Resort is probably among the cheaper private options for a private hot spring. The rooms aren't entirely well kept (some broken things), but mostly clean and okay if you just want a quick rest to soak in your hot bath tub. If you're looking for more upscale and well kept, it's best to look elsewhere. Otherwise I would recommend trying the busy public pools or paying more for a better resort

You get what you pay for

We spent an hour and NT$590 at this hot spring resort. Our private room was fairly basic, but reasonably clean. The water is from the hot spring and leaves one smelling slightly sulphurous. That, apparently, is good for the skin. I am in no position to agree or disagree.

A rather grumpy male member of staff at reception and a lady who wasn't very much better. They should try smiling.

Cheap, but grumpy staff

We only went in for the hot spring service - one hour for TWD 720 which with a room that contains bathroom and a small living area with TV, cleaned towers and drinking bottle  water. We were after a soak of the hot spring water after a half day walk in Beitou. Can't say it's the cleanest room but good enough for the short rest. There were some mould at the corner of the bathroom here and there but it was expected since the bathtub was for hot spring purpose in which would have minerals that causes those mould.

I would recommend if you are tired and after a short break.

Tips: The room type that we chose, has a TV so we watched SpiderMan3 from it.
Tips: Usually hot spring recommend soak for no more than 15 mins, so you can always take a break to watch some movie and then back to the hot spring.
