In walking distance from the main station and surrounded by good food shops this hostel is in a nice location. The next metro station is only a 5 minute walk away as well.
Staff in the hostel was friendly. We had booked a double room with shared bathroom. The room looked ok but somehow smelled like puke. We could not figure out what it was. Furthermore there were for some reason plenty of mosquitos in the room (even though there is a mosquito net in front of the window). The hostel is located in a busy area. Therefore we woke up every morning at 4am when the first people took their scooters to get to work.
The shared bathrooms were very clean. There is a common area with good and cheap coffee. 
Overall we would not stay here again because it is just too noisy (but that's the price you might have to pay for a very good location). Taipei has a very good subway system (not very expensive as well), so I would rather sleep a bit more outside of the center but therefore have a quiet, non-smelly room.


Good location.

There is no signboard to show the location, only a letter box with address written on it at the entrance but if you booked before arrival, the staff will send a very detailed map on how to get there. It was within walking distance to taipei main station. I even walked to Ximending, 10-15min away. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room and wash room were clean. There were some who stayed long-term so might not be as friendly as backpackers met in hostel. The lounge was very cosy and informative.
