I stayed for two nights earlier this year and was so very glad to leave. The hotel and surrounding area felt very safe but it is not a comfortable hotel by any means. You must take an elevator to the 10th floor in a non  descript building that is so easy to miss. I took a taxi to the hotel from the Inn Cube. At any rate, it was far better than the Inn Cube which is so small you can touch both walls with outstretched arms! There really is no customer service at Linsen House and little English is spoken, so you are on your own. This was fine with me since I am quite the independent traveller. The room was clean. There is nothing to see or do in the surrounding area for a tourist. Streets are large and dangerous to cross. I would wait until I saw others crossing the busy streets. You can easily miss this hotel as it is so far from everything and there is not a large sign indicating its existence. There was no breakfast option and no English on the TV. I would not stay here again.

Clean hotel, but very difficult to find

OK, there's no sign at street level to help you find this place, it's on the 10th floor of a block of businesses on a very busy main road. There are just 7 rooms and there is no reception, only a caretaker for the block who is usually neither there or asleep. When you arrive your room key is left on a noticeboard for you. The room was a reasonable size but stank of some chemical, I presume drifting up from one of the businesses below. If you left any food out, it would quickly be attacked by ants. The shower is just a hose attached to the sink, so everything in the bathroom gets wet, including the toilet paper if you haven't removed it first. It might be 10 floors up but the traffic noise is horrendous and we were surprised to find mosquitoes in the room. The TV is at 90 degrees to the bed so you can't watch watch it from the bed. The doors have to be slammed to close so there's no point in going to bed too early, you will be woken up by people going into their rooms. The "hotel" is largely used by locals who leave their smelly fast food bags outside their rooms on the floor in the corridor. The wifi is really slow and flaky, only really works in the corridor. There are no fire evacuation instructions or fire extinguishers, I'm sure it borders on being illegal. It's a truly disgusting place and not cheap, we paid about the same as our previous hotel, I'm Inn Taipei and the difference is just huge. I wouldn't recommend this dump to anyone.
