We booked two triple rooms but not on the same floor. The hotel is small but available to park our car. Not too much special but the amenity shower jell, conditioner and lotion were good quality. Breakfast was normal but not bad with 24 hrs coffee service. Price was also cheap and location is not too far to the night market.

stayed in the apple hotel early december, the concierge doesn't know much english and my mandarin is non existant, the cleaner knows some english, which is helpful.
having said that the staff go out of their way to help. the rooms are basic but adequate for the cost of the room. don't flop on the beds, they are hard and you may do damage.

remember to plug the fridge in when you get into the room, most rooms were damaged by a typhoon in july of 2016 and the apple hotel lost its roof and was severely water damaged. the airconditioning in the rooms is not working much but fans are supplied. breakfast in the morning is toast n jam and asian style. they have a selection of icecream as well, of which they are proud to display and serve.

the hotel is near the beach, probably a kilometer walk, close to maccas for western food if you have a craving and there is a 7 eleven and market on the way to maccas.

the wet bathroom is something i haven't used before, no shower screen, everything gets wet. they do have western style toilet bowls

the rooms are clean, it is cheap, don't expect a western hotel.

The Apple hotel is situated just outside the centre of Taitung.  When we arrived there, the staff were friendly and checked us in pretty quickly.

The room was clean, with comfortable beds and a lovely hot shower.  Breakfast was included and there was a small selection of English style food (toast and jam, basically) and a Chinese style buffet with local porridge.

A word of warning: The staff were generally very helpful, but as I was with a native Chinese speaker this probably helped a lot.  If you don't speak / aren't with anyone who can speak the native language, I suspect you might struggle in Taitung as a whole - not just in this hotel!

Basic City Centre Hotel

Our travel agent recommended this hotel because it was "cheap and clean". We checked the website but did the terrible mistake not to check trip advisor cause we were in a hurry. The hotel is located in central Taitung and this is pretty much the only positive thing. The room was not even equipped with a proper TV set, the bathroom was dirty with not even a towel shelf to put your shampoo on - we even found a chewed beetle nut on the top of the shower door...(we checked in 806 - if you take the same room, it 'll probably still be there) 
The room's door has a knob and you can't really be sure that your things are safe and secure...
The breakfast was not even a breakfast, we looked and went away to a LaGuardia breakfast place.
The reception girl tried her best to help us rent a scooter but the English the stuff speaks is limited to 3 or 4 words.
Our advise, stay away...
