This nice hotel are in front of the ocean on Matembwe beach , is not so big and you really could have a great relax time. The room are very big , new, well dressed, the big bed are really comfortable. All the staff people are local, they speak English and they are so kind. The swimming pool is clean and nice the sea front is unbelievable

Great relax

We are 8 people and wanted to have a quick lunch in the hotel‘s restaurant as we are spending our nights somewhere else. First of all we were informed in the beginning that a lot of food was not available this day - which is basically OK when you think about fish, prawns etc. - but this decreased the amount of food for the vegetarians a lot (veggie burger,..)
After ordering we waited almost 2h (we were the only guests) for the food and we couldn’t eat all together.
For myself the fried noodles with vegetables were OK but 90min+ waiting time is too long

Restaurant Visit

Good food ( i only got breakfast) and nice people - super super friendly. I can recommend the place and it is easy to arrange boat trips to mnemba island. Also the view from the poolside is really really stunning

Good vibes

Super amazing stay! We were 5 people sharing one of the Villas and it was so nice. The villa had everything we needed for our short stay. The pool and outside garden area was nice and well cared for. Breakfast was nice with good choices! Would definitely recommend. 

Amazing stay

Rested at the Hotel Bahari Villa for 2 weeks. The hotel really meets its 3 stars.The check-in was quick, but keep in mind on arrival that all staff speak Swahili and not everyone knows or understands English.At the reception, the administrators speak and understand English well.I'll tell you about the currency, 1 dollar = 2000 Zanzibar shillings, and you can exchange dollars and euros for shillings at the hotel reception.after a long flight we had dinner at the hotel.
Personally, we did not like the dinner, the reason is high prices and not tasty, unsalted dishes.We went to the hotel only for breakfast and satisfied with them.So, for breakfast, everyone was served a plate of fruit (banana, a piece of pineapple, orange and papaya, and mango), and natural juices, they are very tasty, although a little diluted.Then they asked who would have tea or coffee with milk, brought a coffee maker and some milk (coffee was delicious). The menu is the same every day, there was a Spanish omlette with vegetables, just an omelet, hard-boiled eggs, and beaten eggs or they are also called a mix. When choosing which eggs to eat, they brought you a salad with mushrooms (very tasty), one pancake, two pieces of toasted toast and, if desired, jam or butter.Breakfast from 7:30 to 10 am.We lived in a bungalow on the 1st floor. Be prepared that the room will not be perfectly clean. The bed was clean but the mosquito nets were in terrible condition, they protected against mosquitoes and gnats but were torn and dirty. The detergents included shampoo, soap and shower gel, but if you brought your own products, be prepared that no one will deliver anything. In 2 weeks, only after the request, we were delivered 2 times soap and shower gel and that's it. And this despite the fact that we left a tip. As for water, we brought 1.5 people a day for 3 people and all, despite the fact that the air temperature was +32 and I wanted to drink constantly. So if you have little water you will need to go to the village and buy water there. They clean the room for 1 hour because everyone is slow and relaxed. Each room has a safe.We still had a fairly spacious terrace. The hotel area is beautiful and well maintained. There is a pool with increasing depth but everyone can swim. To the ocean from the room walk 2 minutes.
And now the important information about this hotel that happened to us.
The hotel has staff who dig into guests' belongings and steal money.
They stole $ 40 from our backpack in our inside pocket. The administrator responded to this situation at the reception simply with the word Sorry. A hotel that wants to have a reputation would offer visitors at least some bonus and here you are just sorry. We will never return to this hotel. And I am writing about this situation because I do not want anyone else to suffer so much. Therefore, whether to go to this hotel or not is up to you.

We booked one of the villas on Airbnb. While corresponding with them, I was offered to make full payment directly to their bank account, which I obviously did not do.

After the booking was done and fully-paid, we received several messages from the property, saying that there was a mistake in price quoting and in order to stay there we should pay double the price. In the end, they forcefully canceled my reservation 2 days prior to my scheduled arrival. 

Avoid at all costs, they act as swindlers.

Beware of fraud!

The hotel has a tremendous 5* service with a skillful chef who knows what is needed and meets your expectations, overall the rooms are big and beds are comfy as expected the private swimming pool is one of the best I have used. I give a 5* to Ms sveta for the assistance given and all the TAMANI VILLAS team big up and keep it up .

Best place to be

Our stay at Bahari Villas was fantastic. Very friendly staff, rooms are clean and comfortable and its just a few meters to the beautiful sandy beach.

The food is delicious but dont wait too long to order - as they do cook very fresh it sometimes takes a while :) If you have special wishes the chef is more than happy to help...

We felt very welcome and it was a wonderful place to relax. Would love to go back soon

Wonderful holiday!

we spent 3 days in this beautiful place. Room was super clean, with air con and fan. pool and beach beds available (not that many, but we were lucky it was low season so there was lot of free space) Nice restaurant as well available on site.

Relaxing holidays

We booked into the Bahari Villas to join our travelling partners after initially booking into another location. We look back on it as a mistake. Potentially, Bahari could be the best spot in the area. The rooms are large and airy with safes in the room and a good bathroom. Our room even had a private outdoor shower which we used daily. The gardens are lush and well kept. The pool is right above the beach and you could lie in a chaise under the palms and gaze out at the beach, reef and endless ocean. The eating area is set up above the pool with a nice view. It was easy to set up excursions through the front desk (Karen was a wonderful, smiling hostess). Perfect, right?!
Unfortunately Bahari fell short in some other areas. We had some internet, power and water issues our first night, and a little bit subsequently. The food was okay, but we found other places to eat that were far better, including the hotel we initially booked. Though friendly, the restaurant staff lacked the outgoing, positive attitude we found other places. Due to religious beliefs, there is not alcohol available, which is fine, but it does detract from the location, as having a drink by the pool or wine with dinner is what the majority of travelers would like to do. We did buy our own in Stonetown and bring it on-site, which is permitted (but we had to ration it as Stonetown is a good hour away).
We really liked the hotel, and hope they can fix their issues and become what they potentially could.
