Pro: 
1. We have chosen this hotel through the Touristic Agency DerTour Romania, for 7 nights with all-inclusive soft plan. This means that alcoholic drinks were offered by tax, and not for free. 
2. The resort is very nice, big, very clean and full of greenery and exotic palm trees and for me that was absolute pleasure. We chose a Junior Suite type of room with garden view and a balcony 1st floor.  So we had a large double bed and an extra sofa in the room. The rooms are in a traditional style not modernist, so they can be perceived as old and ugly by some people. We nice hard mattress I have to say and we liked it a lot! 
3. The food was everyday fresh, diverse, with local products and meals as well. A cook was making omelettes on the spot and that was very nice as well. At breakfast there was no cheese and ham options but sausages and bacon,  and this can be a deal breaker for some people. Not for us, but still…As a suggestion I would like to see in the future some extra ingredients for the omelette like: mushrooms and cheese. The diversity of pastry at breakfast was great and we have plenty to choose from: croissants, muffins, waffles, pancakes with toppings and local Zanzibar Vanilla cream! Delicious meals at dinners with local fresh fish, pastas, lasagnas, vegetables and fruits. Also sea foods: mainly calamari and octopus. The staff was kind and polite and the hotel was not understaffed. Also the staff speaks Italian, English, Spanish! 4.Congratulations to the staff who spotted a mid-age woman who took/steal 10+ muffins at breakfast and placed them in a nylon bag.She was asked to pay as this was clearly more than she was able to eat at the end of the breakfast. So dear tourist: Please behave! :)
5.We had a small Gym; during days and also in the evening there were activities and entertainment which was great.  
6. The hotel is kids friendly. The swimming pool is very big and has also an area for kids. 
7. WiFi: is good at the hotel in all areas not only at the reception. 
Cons:
1. The website is poorly made, they are few pictures only with the rooms at poor quality and those are not showing the true potential of the hotel and resort which is great! 
2. City Tourist Tax: info should be added on their website! It is 5$ per person/day. Please take into account that there is a weird request regarding the US Dollars bills issued later than 20 years ago, when you take $$ with you in cash please remember that the bill must be no later than 10 years old, to avoid issues. The locals might not accept them. 
3. The rooms were not equipped with mini-fridge and at this point there are 30+ degrees C and high humidity I strongly believe there is a must!

Excelent 7 nights at Palumbo Reef! Totally recommend this hotel.

Great vacation 

We went to Polumboreef for our honeymoon with our little baby girl. The staff were kind, caring and always wanted to know how our little girl felt (after some fever she had). The space as a whole is its own world. The island is found outside the walls. This said. The food was delicious, the chefs and staff (Fadhili) in particular went above and beyond to make the  stay memorable. Thank you to Roger for the contact to the doctor and everything he did to help. 

To seeing you all again.


Honeymoon 

Palumboreef it is a 2 star hotel what I didnt like :
-the beach was full of algae ( which are harvest by locals) 
- the only person to be replaced should be the manager who expected tips just to do his job( tips are for good services as a plus not a custom for rudness) 
-the bathroom wasnt clean because they dont use dezinfectants
-the tax 5 dollars per person each day which meant another 70 euros more 

Good points :
- the personal ( except the manager ) was doing the best 
-the food was good , no food poisoning during the stay

Beacuse of the beach I wont be coming back

I liked the food and this review is specialy for the chefs Mawadua Khamis and Madawa.
Very nice fish and beef and all food , it is a very nice , relaxing place to be.

All people working here are simling and ask you how are you , they are so nice and polite

Very good food 

Great hotel, lovely staff, delicious food, did enjoy our stay in the hotel, but €100 excursion trip was very unprofessionally handled by hotel guides, felt like the english and international guests get prioritized second after  the Italian guests.

R&R after Kilimanjaro hike

What makes this place so special? Since I travel a lot as a group leader, I have seen many expensively made hotels that have been ruined by bad management. In this combined complex of Samaki and Palumboreef, there is a spirit of partnership and mutual respect between the people of the whole team who manage the hotels and the people of the staff. The first thing that will strike you is the artistic style of the hotel, the open spaces and the amazing gardens. Everything is clean and everything has the spirit of Africa. The staff is prepared to welcome you and awaits you, simplifying your check-in procedure as much as possible. You receive a refreshing welcome drink and a short briefing to help you make the best choice for your stay.
What will surely win your hearts is the feeling of personal attention and care not only upon your arrival but also throughout your stay. Every request or comment we had was met with attention and people immediately went out of their way to fix the problem. One of the ladies in our group forgot her expensive sunglasses in a van we were traveling in on our day trip. Thanks to the quick response of front office manager Muhammad Ali, after only 20 minutes the glasses were not only found, but a member of staff personally took them to the lady's room. She said "I'm delighted!"
 My recommendation to hotel guests is if they want to explore Zanzibar and experience unforgettable adventures on the island, trust the hotel entertainer Roger and Samaki manager Ali Mohammed. I assure you that they will not only give you the best advice on how to combine your excursions, but the price you will get will be very good. I had the opportunity to compare the prices with those offered by other hotels, so me and the people in my group made sure not only of the good price, but also of the high quality of tourist services in Palumbo and Samaki. I advise you - do not fall for the "tempting offers" that the players on the shore will offer you. This can cost you a lot more!
Special thanks to Ali for his caring attitude towards our group. Every evening he came to our table to listen to people's impressions of the previous day, to hear their recommendations and questions, to help us organize our adventures for the next day in the best possible way. What's more - with his help, the kitchen team organized a special surprise for our last evening - a cake with an inscription in Bulgarian, served in their hearty and attractive way with song and dance. We will never forget this place and for sure I would go back there with many new friends.
I highly recommend that you don't miss out on enjoying the talent of the team of professional massage therapists at Samaki Spa. These people do wonders with their hands.

It is definitely one of the cleanest, most hospitable and aesthetic places on the whole island. If you dislike American tourists and cheap attractions but prefer high-end cocktails, serene views and perfect customer experience, this is your place :)

Paradise

We spent a fantastic time in Palumbo Samaki. 
The soul of this resort is definitely the management  team and all the staff 

They were so kind with us, taking care of any details and make us feel like home. 
Sandro, Pedro, Mohamed Ali and Ali Mohamed, Ali at the massage, Joshua Pedro, Freddie, Juma, Mariam, chef Danmbo aaaannnnnd our very special Rogers at the animation: thank you so much for this good time !!! We'll definitely come back with our Familiy.

This hotel is very nice, almost empty (January 2022 - 30%) no russian people, no children 3 swimmingpools we were there alone, maybe 2-3 people. Food was very nice, personal as well. Management can play voleybal!!! :) Not our last visit, thank you!!!
