What was good

We stayed here for one night before heading off to Phi Phi Island. The room and bathroom were lovely and spacious and we received a warm welcome and good service. We ate dinner at the restaurant right on the beach which was one of the better meals and cocktails we had during our whole stay in Thailand! I recommend the Tuna bruschetta, vegetarian spring rolls, and King Coconut cocktail! While dining, we saw these amazing cute crabs of various sizes playing together in the sand and they were standing straight and upright on their legs. Never seen that before! If anyone knows what type of crabs these are, let me know... The pool was huge and gorgeous!

What was bad

Unfortunately due to the low rainy season in Aug/Sept, the beach was rough and unswimmable. The staff advised that the hotel's private beach is calm and clear during high season. The hotel is a short walk from a small cluster of stalls and restaurants in Nai Thon, including a supermarket, however, again, due to low season it was very quiet, not much of a buzz, and a lot of shops were closed. It looks like it would be a fun visit in high season though. The hotel is otherwise not within walking distance from any activities and you'll need a ride or car/bike to sightsee and shop. Renovations were underway and the gym and one restaurant I believe were closed. However, it was an understandable time for this work during low season.
