I visit Chiang Rai from time to time. I will not be  staying anywhere other than this place. Everything as good as it gets in this price range. The owner told me a guest complained about the swimming pool being dirty,problem is no swimming pool at Baan Jaru.

As Good as it Gets

This is small (8 or 10 rooms) family run business. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, aircon is cold shower is hot. 
The breakfast is simple but filling, enough to last until evening.
The breakfast area is very pleasant you can eat inside or outside. 
The hotel is well located it’s a 10 or 15 minute walk to to the bus station, night markets, gold clock tower etc. if you want to go further afield ie to the White Temple, Monkey Caves, Myanmar border etc the hotel can put you in touch with a taxi driver with good English, his number ends in 8995.

Second stay, it’s still just as good.

Ban Jaru is a gem. The rooms are perfect, and it’s located near the central city, but in a quiet block across the street from a beautiful temple. 
I’ve been here three times. It’s perfect!!!!
Breakfast includes omelets, toast, fruit, etc.

Ban Jaru in Chiang Rai is great

I stayed in Baan Jaru during my time in Chiang Rai. It's just a short walk from the bus terminal. It's located on a fairly quiet street. I had quite a comfortable stay in room 2/4. I liked that the room is fairly big and the bed is comfortable. Just need to be careful of the edges of the bedframe as it can be a little sharp. Waking up in the morning is quite a great experience. The moment you open the door, you have the smell of flowers and birdsong. The owner clearly knew what he was doing having flowers growing on the elevated platform. 

Breakfast is served at 7.30am in the morning where you can ask for eggs to be cooked in a particular style, and that is served with a side of stir fried vegetables. It also comes with toast. You will need to help yourself to the butter and jam from a small table. At the same table, you can pick from a selection of fruits consisting of watermelon, mango and banana. 

The reception also has a few brochures and posters for car rental and tours. However the scope for tours is limited to the full day kind.

Big room and comfortable stay

We spent two nights in the cabin they offer at the hotel and it was a very pleasant experience, the hotel staff of 10, they speak a very good English, very detailed, we had a problem with the key and it was solved in a moment, we explained to you on arrival at the hotel about a map that gives you the best places to eat, activities to do and temples to visit, breakfast is very pleasant on a terrace they have, variety of fruit, toast, eggs in all their forms and the location is excellent, near De la Torre del Reloj, the Chiang market, the Saturday market and the bus station, highly recommended.

Very nice 

The Baan Jaru is super situated. It is within walking distance of the bus station and the night market and in the street with many restaurants. Even the temples in the city can be reached on foot from here. Even to Sunday Walking Street it was a bit of a walk, but still in a frame and easy to find. The rooms are relatively new and super clean. The breakfast includes the usual toast, fruit and eggs, but the coffee from the vending machine is great. All in all, a super guesthouse for a few days in Chiang Rai. Price-performance is top.

Central, clean class choice for a few days in Chiang Rai

All the employees were very friendly and hospitable. The owner could be asked anything at any time, since his English was perfect. The general feeling was very well taken care of. The room was clean, spacious and flooded with light - the latter being well regulated by double guards, so that it was also possible to darken the room. The bathroom was great, with a separate shower & it is possible to throw toilet paper into the toilet. The daily breakfast with coffee or tea and fresh fruit, toast & egg included and sufficient for the start of the day.

Great accommodation for Chiang Rai

We stayed 2 nights to visit the city.The truth is that the hotel is super well situated to get to all the important sites on foot.Central, comfortable, beautiful, and an unbeatable treat.We were greeted by a huge boy who explains everything wonderful to us with a map made by him.It served us well for everything and was great.The breakfast was very rich.Enchanted with everything, we will repeat if we come back.

Visiting the north.

Great location right in the center of the city within walking distance of the clock tower and the night bazaar; spotless clean, spacious  and comfortable room with en-suite bathroom; excellent breakfast... What a WONDERFUL place! Thank you very much Baan Jaru for the amazing hospitality; your kindness. We WILL BE BACK!
