We have visited this place many times and seen it change. It still has some good qualities and the train rides through the enclosures at night are a highlight. The ability to feed and interact with animals has decreased, particularly post CoVid but we still managed to pat a curious giraffe on the tour. It's not what it used to be but still can be a fun evening out. (If you don't want to pay you can stop by and see the giraffes from the carpark before it gets dark).

Frequent visitor

There were a couple of options and we chose to walk, with the walk trhough the zoo you see nothing, most things dark and cant see 90 percent of animal you pass. Worst thing is that the walkway isnt lit, very dangerous and i wouldnt recommend.

The tram tour might have been better but i can only comment on the walking option that we took. 

Overall pretty poor experience

Tiger show! Predator show ! And so much more 
This park will give you once in a a lift time activity it’s really nice and secured you see so many species of animals you get really close to them and sometime can feed them!


Highly recommend Safari!

The safari tour has 2 routes via a train through a zone called predators and also the savannah zone. The animals are active and come to the train for a pat - giraffes, deer and zebra. The range of animals seen was significant with heaps of animals grazing along the route. Buffalo, bison, big cats, rhinos, exotic endangered animals were able to be seen in open plan enclosures. They looked well fed and engaged with the area they were grazing in. The grounds are beautiful and in ancient Thai style with animal handlers holding animals for a closeup view eg meet cats and porcupines. Two shows are also held one of Thai  dancing and the other is the tiger show the tigers were trained to show their ability to jump based on rewards of meat. They do flinch when the keepers go near them and these proud animals should not be expected to stand in 2 legs like a chimpanzee. 
I would have rated a 5 but for the tiger show. Beautiful animals but don’t expect hem to perform like a circus animal. 

Fantastic Zoo Safari Experience - Not Sure Re Tigers

The ticket price is very reasonable for the whole safari show. You should go see the tigers and lion show first. Then take the first tram to watch predator zone and then second tram to savanna zone. Really enjoy.

The best attractions in Chiangmai you shouldn’t miss

The safari its self is great .lots to see but we booked through a company who told us to be outside for 9.00 this is before the shows finish so missed them and then they were late .wish we had made our own Way there and seen everything.

Not enough time

This is a must do when in Chiang Mai! Great for all ages!

So many many animals to see and admire and very well kept with plenty of space etc.
(Please ignore obviously reviews of those ‘ban all zoo’ types who without even visiting spout sanctimonious drivel).

We did the night tour and rode on both safaris, did the walking tour and managed to catch some of the tiger/lion show.

Advice would be if booking through an agent make sure they get you there by 6ish and leave giving you plenty of time to do what you want there. Our tour felt very rushed. Maybe better to get a grab there and back and do at your own leisure!

Best zoo experience I’ve had!

We went to the night Safari during the week around lunchtime. The place was deserted which means that we were  the only three guests the whole time. I have always liked that place, a crossover between Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones and the temple of doom. 
If you take the walking tour it's very very cheap: 100 B/ticket for adult and 50 for kids. The Walk is enjoyable, long and almost always under the shade of trees. It has an eerie feeling to it but all of the animals look in excellent health, clean and reactive (despite the heat on that day). With Poopoopaperpark it is the best deal for a family in Chiang Mai.

Definitely worth a visit

Our family love animals and like travel very much. We came at CM Night Safari more than 7 times but this time we disappointed. We be around 7 pm on Monday because we don't want to see many tourists. Frist we brought a ticket. 
The lady bad mood and gave a ticket for us. We are 8 adult with 2 children (adult 800 THB/children half price) it is expensive and no smile ,no any information, no map. We are not sure about the system because it change from last time. 
Our children want to buy a drink. They accepted only card and last time to return the money around 9 pm but we back to the  ticket on 8:40 pm it was close so we still have some money in our card can't refound. 
You have to survive with thousands of Chinese groups with rude tour guide because they so lound and not respect other visitors. 
It was not joke plese improved the service mind of staff . We are paid as Chinese people but they don't care or give a good service to us.
