The Sunflower Bungalows

I stayed here 1 week whist in koh Chang. The bungalows are very nice and come with a hammock. The beds were big and comfy. The only downside to these bungalows mine didn't come with a sink. I had a toilet and shower but no sink. I found it very strange but I was only paying 500 baht a night so it weren't a huge problem. 
The bungalows of very central if you want to be near all the bars with loud music. The music didn't bother me but I can see some people not sleeping well here because it's loud till about 2am.

Let's get 2 things out of the way, yes the bar nearby thumps out music till way in the early hours, so if you are a light sleeper, give these a miss. And yes some bungalows are wooden so bugs will get in. Part of the charm in my opinion.
However, a warm and friendly welcome was given to us by the owner. He was very helpful and the other staff were great also. Wooden bungalow were small but adequate. Good hot shower and great bed with big mossie net. No sink which was unusual and we would have liked a table or some hooks to put things on. Seating area and hammock on the deck. Good central area, close to bars, clubs, restaurants and shops and the Rocky end of the beach.

Central great value place to stay

I booked Sunflower for one night as a walk in guest, I checked both Fan and AC Bungalows, one night fare for fan bungalows  was coated 500BTH and AC 900BTH. I check both the bungalows, whereas Non-AC bungalows were very basic even without insect protection  net at windows and bathroom was smelly. 

Unfortunately, during my trip my leg got injured and most of the time I need to stay in room so I picked bungalow with AC.  AC Bungalow was also very basic but room was very clean, AC worked fine at afternoon, bathroom was clean and hot water run very fine.

During my stay I visited Sunflower bakery twice for coffee and got the chance for short chat with the owner of Sunflower “Thomas”   he was very open in providing useful tip about the island , very nice friendly person.

Overall Sunflower is OK budget place to stay though 900-BTH for AC room was high. As just on a short walk hardly 3 mins 800-BTH AC rooms right on the Sea are also available .

if you are looking for quite nights this is not the good choice because Sunflower located at party area loud bars and pubs .

Nice short stay

Despite the owner is a very friendly guy, everything inside the bungalow was wrong. The pillow very dirty, the water too, the toilet flooded and rests of cigarettes on the main yard.
If it should have been cheaper, I will not have complain of the experience, but paying 1.000 bath per night for a double room with a lot of noise around and uncomfortable was not the plan.

It has an overcost respect the rest of the resort around.

It was the worst experience in Thailand

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was the worst accommodation I have stayed in Asia! When we arrived they put us in the wrong hotel (sunset huts) which was next door, however they didn’t tell us until we checked out and they claimed we were an overbook despite me booking the bungalow 4 months ago! The service was awful! Our room was dirty, the bathroom had no sink or flush. The air con broke and people kept sitting on our balcony in the middle of the night. This place isn’t even worth 100 baht a night!
