Sonya bungalows is a very quiet and cheap guesthouse situated 5 minutes walk from klong Khong beach in Koh Lanta . It is a family business run by a  very friendly thai family . They also have a restaurant with delicious food and drinks . Moreover , the young girls speak perfect English and can organise everything you need on the island .  It’s a perfect place to stay in Lanta .

Cool and cheap place to stay in Koh Lanta

Very impressed,first by the fresh shakes we ordered,big glasses,definitely made with fresh fruits, and then by the food,fresh as well and incredibly high quality. Service was fantastic as well,very friendly staff! 

Incredible food and drinks

I didn’t stay here but ate here most days and the food was fantastic. The staff are really helpful too. We also booked a trip from here and they made sure I was catered for as a vegetarian on our day trip.

Koh Lanta's best breakfast

Friendly stuff and amazing breakfast in big portion sizes - we will definitely come back! 
Delicious bread, various fresh fruits, eggs in all options - definitely something for everyone

What can we say. We come here every winter. It's a home away from home. We had the gardenroom with fan, warm shower, good bed, nice terrace and shared fridge. Beautiful green surroundings, quiet and relaxed. There's is a very good restaurant with fresh food and a clean kitchen. Service with a smile. Highly recommended place on Klong Kong beach.

Coming here every here. How can I go somewhere else?? 
I stayed in a room at the back side, just by the jungle.... Sooo peacefull!! Best place for relaxing and not far from the beach. Rooms are big, super clean and tidy.
The food at the restaurant is extremely delicious. Staff is super friendly and they speak perfect english. They are also very helpfull. 
I would reccomend this place to everyone.

Third time in 4 years eating at Sonya’s most days, they even remember our names throughly lovely people who put them selves out for dinners and quests, and willing to try anything you ask for , good English spoked, the staff and owners of this well established family rum business are most helpful and the food is as good as you will find anywhere on Koh Lanta, 5 star,,,Mike

Great hospitality,great food

We stayed in the rooms on the back side, had a view of the jungle and rubber plantages, heard just amazing animal sounds and nothing else - such a quiet and perfect place to relax.
It's just a short walk over the street to get to the beach.
The house consists of 8 private rooms and a very nice common area with a fridge and a little kitchen-like place (water boiler, some dishes and drinking water)
The rooms are big, super clean and very comfortable.
In the garden you have hammocks to use and cozy relaxing chairs and a table so you can easily get to find yourself still being home with a coffee and a good book after some hours ;)
The staff is amazing - really sweet and always there for you if you need anything. 
For those who want to stay really close to the beach sonya offers also bungalows with fan or air con.

Cozyest place :)

That’s the second time I spend a few weeks at Sonya. When I arrived I got a nice hug from Namfon. Actually her whole family was very nice again. And I felt like coming home immediately.  A fews days I wanted to spent on Koh Mook and she organized that to, as well as my trip back to Phuket. On Klong Kong Beach there are several possibilities to have breakfast. I tried a lot of them. But the one at Sonya Guesthouse is definitely the best. You should also try the thai omlett with tuna, chili and garlic. I recommend to order a cold thai tea with this meal  Twice a year I spent a few weeks in Thailand and its restaurants and I have to say,also the other thai meals are very delicious here but you have to order it spicy, if you want it spicy. Apart from this the bungalow was always clean and you could smell that the hammock just came out of the washing machine. At the beach you will find some nice bars too. I loved to order a cocktail there and look at the sunset. So my next time on Lanta I will spent it at Sonya Restaurant and Guesthouse again.
